Sunday Wrap-up: Too close for comfort

Wow. That’s all I can say after last night’s game, where the A.J. Feeley-led Eagles nearly accomplished the upset of the century. I have to give props to the Andy Reid and the Eagles defense, as they were able to make Tom Brady look nearly human with all their blitzing schemes and by somehow managing to contain Randy Moss. In the end however, it was not to be. Let’s just hope Baltimore doesn’t give the Patriots that much trouble next weekend though…I prefer the blowouts I think. Anyways, here are some of the fantasy standouts from the past few days (I’ve included the Turkey Day games as well)…

Drew Brees (QB-NO): 260 passing yards, 8 rushing yards, 4 TD (3 pass, 1 rush), 1 INT
Which Saints team will take the field next week? Jekyll or Hyde?

Brett Favre (QB-GB): 381 passing yards, 3 TD
Packers vs Cowboys…Favre vs Romo…Old vs Young…huge game next week for NFC supremacy

Philip Rivers (QB-SD): 249 passing yards, 3 TD
Good rebound game after a couple bad weeks

Kurt Warner (QB-ARI): 484 passing yards, 2 TD, 2 INT
Nearly 500 passing yards…but fumbles in the endzone to lose the game in OT

A.J. Feeley (QB-PHI): 345 passing yards, 3 TD, 3 INT
These stats against the Patriots?! The 3 INT’s were fatal though

Chad Johnson (WR-CIN): 12 receptions, 103 receiving yards, 3 TD
Doubles his touchdown total for the season

Larry Fitzgerald (WR-ARI): 9 receptions, 156 receiving yards, 2 TD
The jump ball in the endzone helped these stats a bit.

Wes Welker (WR-NE): 13 receptions, 149 receiving yards
A monster in PPR leagues, he was the lone fantasy bright spot on the Patriots last night

Greg Lewis (WR-PHI): 4 receptions, 88 receiving yards, 2 TD
Apparently the Patriots didn’t scout the Feeley to Lewis connection

Donald Driver (WR-GB): 10 receptions, 147 receiving yards
Another day, another solid game for Favre’s go-to guy

Roddy White (WR-ATL): 6 receptions, 104 receiving yards, 1 TD
I’m still trying to figure out if White is for real, but he keeps putting up numbers

Antonio Gates (TE-SD): 6 receptions, 105 receiving yards, 2 TD
Just when you might have started worrying about Gates

Kellen Winslow (TE-CLE): 10 receptions, 107 receiving yards, 1 TD
Another solid game from Winslow…he’d be number 1 if Gates wasn’t there

Frank Gore (RB-SF): 116 rushing yards, 2 TD, 11 receptions, 98 receiving yards
This is the Gore you took as a top 5 pick in the draft

Kolby Smith (RB-KC): 150 rushing yards, 2 TD
What a breakout game for this rookie

Justin Fargas (RB-OAK): 139 rushing yards, 1 TD, 2 receptions, 18 receiving yards
Is Fargas making Domanic Rhodes the biggest waste of money this season?

Ryan Grant (RB-GB): 101 rushing yards, 1 TD, 6 receptions, 31 receiving yards
Green Bay is going to be a tough out from here on as they finally have a running game

Jamal Lewis (RB-CLE): 134 rushing yards, 1 TD, 2 receptions, 13 yards
I thought Lewis was on the outs, but apparently he still has juice in the tank

Andre Hall (RB-DEN): 98 rushing yards, 1 TD, 2 receptions, 69 receiving yards
Another great rookie performance

Jason Hanson (K-DET) and Josh Scobee (K-JAX): 19 fantasy points each
Big week for kickers, but these guys led the pack

Minnesota (DEF): 17 points allowed, 3 sacks, 4 INT, 3 defensive TD
The defense scored more points than the Giants offense

P.S. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and ate some good food…I know I did.
