Looks like Chiefs’ quarterback Matt Cassel is a no-go for this afternoon and Brodie Croyle will start in his place. Get him out of your lineup ASAP!

It was all but obvious that the Pack were up on the apparent love affair between Cutler and Bennett…just kidding It was ridiculous! But seriously, look at 3 of the picks, and about four of the almost picks? Common Denominator: forcing it to former Vanderbilt guy Bennett. He had the nerve once to force it into 4 freaking defenders! Now breath and look at every single time he threw it to Hester? Hester showed flashes of Steve Smith on short balls. And looked polished on the ONLY touchdown pass! Route running only gets you so far with TWO (WR1 & WR2) recievers against a 3-4 two deep w/ brackets defensive look by the Pack. Bennett dropped balls, and didn’t look big-play ready. Hester looked polished and extremely under used. It obvious, even to little ole me, that Hester could have easily gotten them over the hump.

I agree with you that they should have gotten the ball to Hester more often and also to Greg Olsen, their tight end who was supposed to be the next big thing at the position! Once Cutler gets more comfortable in the offense, they should do much better, but next week against the Steelers might not be the week where they take a step forward.

Yeah, Olsen disappointed. I think the world’s experts were way off thinking he would have a good season. Clark gets more time as a receiving TE than he does. They even used Olsen at FB in that game. If there is one thing I’ve learned, it’s that a player’s fantasy season is over once he starts playing FB.

Hah, let’s hope they don’t keep him at fullback! I still think I agree with the experts that Olsen can be a solid tight end…they just need Cutler to regroup and get his head back on straight and the whole offense will improve drastically.

Finally we’ve reached that day you’ve all been waiting for…the first Sunday of the 2009-10 NFL season. Good luck to everyone! Before game time though, I wanted to share a few last minute notes that may affect your team…

    • For all of you who took a chance on Cleveland backup running back James Davis, you might have to wait another week to see what you really drafted. He is listed as questionable for today’s game after suffering a minor head injury (in which he was briefly hospitalized) in a car accident yesterday. Keep him on your bench until he proves that he’s the real deal (and healthy.)
    • I was one of the people who were under the impression that Reggie Bush was fully healthy and ready to roll this week, but apparently that might not be the case. Scout.com is reporting that he might not be fully healthy and that it’ll be backup Mike Bell who will get the majority of the carries, although Bush should still get around 15 touches. I’m still starting Reggie in my PPR league, as I think he’ll still be used in the passing game, but I’m hoping this news is bogus and he rips off some big runs today.

Remember how my back-up QBs are Delhomme and Stafford? Now that McNabb is out, my nightmare has come to fruition.

Should I drop Delhomme and pick up Vick? J. Campbell? J. Russell?

Oh man, not a good way to start the season. I guess you could go with Jason Campbell, but he’s not going to do anything special. McNabb’s backup could be worth consideration as they have some good options in the passing game. Delhomme should rebound though, so maybe give him another week if you can risk it (unless the team benches him or something!)

I’m screwed. Not to mention I also have Steve Smith…. *waves good-bye to 2009 season*…

Hah, keep the faith e-roc. I have Steve Smith in one of my leagues and I’m not ready to give up on him yet!

        Grab Garcia as McNabb insurance.
