Can’t say I expected the Saints-Bills game to turn into a defensive battle with zero passing touchdowns on either side. Neither did Vegas – the over/under was 52.5. Drew Brees hasn’t looked like himself at all.

Maybe it’s the weather. It’s nasty up here in Western NY right now.

I think I jinxed something with this post. Pierre Thomas went off like mad the minute I hit “submit.”

I will take a defensive win from the Black & Gold any day!

This season’s version of the Yahoo StatTracker is terrible. It takes forever to load, the chat feature is more or less useless because it covers up your stats if you have it open, and it’s randomly stopped pulling in new info so many times that I can’t trust it any more, making it essentially useless to me. Hey Yahoo guys – bring back the old yellow StatTracker. Please. It wasn’t as pretty, but it worked.

Earlier in the day the yahoo stat tracker was awarding a defensive TD to any team that scored an offensive TD. It totally screwed up the stats until the tracker crashed. It’s working again now.

I agree though. The yahoo stat tracker is horrible and NFL.com’s new box score format is much worse too. There has to be a decent stat tracker out there somewhere!

The most frustrating part is that the old StatTracker was just fine. Did anyone even test this new one out before they launched it?

Maybe we should have gone back to Fleaflicker.com! Their scoring seems to be working fine, hah.

I’m NOT happy about the Patriots game not being on TV so we can watch the Jets AND Giants…lame!

I’d rather have watched the Jets game than the Patriots game which was aired here in Ohio. Any chance we can trade?

I have DirecTV. I can watch whatever game I want. And then there’s the Red Zone Channel, which owns all.

Ask the Geeks: Week 3 overflow!

I would have gotten this Ask the Geeks post up yesterday, but I was attending a wedding, so be happy I woke up at 7:30 AM to get them up with plenty of time before the games today! Anyways, I’m assuming everyone is 2-0 so far, so this week we’ll help you keep that unbeaten streak alive (okay, maybe you’re not 2-0, but we’ll still help!) Remember to send any inquiries you may have to us here.

    David asks…

I am having trouble deciding who to start between Chris Johnson and Steve Slaton. Who should I start?

      Brandon, Thanks a Bunch!

      How am I 0-2? Well, Week 1 I had M.Ryan/Jacobs/Slaton/Forte/Ocho/B.Edwards/Witten/NE/Bironas

Not a Rush/RCV TD among the bunch. Zero. I scored like 57 points and they scored 118.

      Week 2 I fared better
      I scored 103 with Ryan/Jacobs/McGahee/Harvin/Holmes/Ocho/Witten/NE/Bironas

It came down to the sunday night game and Lawrence Tynes outscored Witten/Jacobs to give him 107 to my 103.

That’s how you can be 0-2 with a good team in fantasy football.

I feel your pain, I am struggling between McFadden and McGahee? Any thoughts?

    • Todd 11:35 am on September 27, 2009 Permalink | Reply

McFadden, Mcgahee, and Mccoy, (westbrook is out) what 2 should I start?

      • Brandon 12:23 pm on September 27, 2009 Permalink | Reply

With Westbrook out, I’d go with McGahee and McCoy. How’d you end up with all the “Mc’s” by the way?

last min change slaton or Lesean Mccoy for flex position?

      • Brandon 12:40 pm on September 27, 2009 Permalink | Reply

        Keep Slaton in there.

        • Brandon 8:40 am on September 28, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Man, this didn’t work out as expected. Steve Slaton has been a huge disappointment so far and I think going forward I’m going to have to think hard about recommending him to be in anyone’s starting lineup if there’s another halfway decent option available until he can break the sophomore slump.

thanks for the quick response! 🙂

Hah, on Sunday’s I have my laptop right in front of me all the way until game time.

Ditto, I managed to pick up and plug in McCopy in 3 different leagues upon learning Westbrook wouldn’t play.

pick 2: Slaton, grant, hightower, mcCoy

    • chris 12:56 pm on September 27, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I am thinking Grant and Slaton, but my brother said I should go with McCoy over Slaton.

    • Robin 2:21 pm on September 27, 2009 Permalink | Reply

      Man, slaton’s not looking good…

      Again.

And Jacobs/Sproles is on my bench.

Any way Slaton turns this around or is Houston the Scaub/Johnson show now?

      • Brandon 8:42 am on September 28, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Yeah Slaton is looking like the man left out in this offense. Sproles didn’t do much on your bench, so at least you won’t be kicking yourself over that one.
