Thursday Night Football: IND @ JAX

Although everyone probably already knows (but just in case!), the Colts head to Jacksonville to play the Jaguars on Thursday Night Football tonight. For at least this game it seems that Indianapolis doesn’t plan to do sit any of their stars (unless the score gets lop-sided early I assume.) This means it’s pretty safe to keep Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark in your line-ups as usual. I’m not as confident with Joseph Addai though, as he’s had injury troubles in the past and the team may be more apt to get him to the bench early to ensure he’s healthy down the stretch.

For the Jaguars, Maurice Jones-Drew could have a tough go of it, but you can’t really bench him unless you have an running back corps and can replace him. Mike Sims-Walker has a pretty decent match-up with the Colts coming off a game in which they allowed a 21 reception, 200 yard, two touchdown performance to his old UCF teammate, Brandon Marshall. No one else on the roster is really up for consideration, so I’ll leave it at that. Good luck!

Is MSW really worth starting? I mean in the games he’s played injured he’s hasn’t done anything. He’s definitely still hurting but I almost have to play him in one PPR league.

I have MSW, Nicks, Breaston, Meachem, Collie and Chambers to choose from. ATM I have Meachem starting only because it’s clear that MSW is still limited and playing a good set of corners. Thoughts?

All depends on your other options I guess. Who are you considering starting instead? Nicks, Meachem and Breaston or something? I think I would start him with Meachem and Nicks. Fitzgerald is saying that he wants to play and Breaston didn’t do anything last week.

Well it’s only a 2WR league and I have Welker so he’s definitely starting. I was just trying to figure out my WR2 slot. I think I’m going to go with Meachem and hope for the best. I can’t start MSW with confidence after his last two weeks.

Meachem gets some return yards from time to time which won’t make too big a difference in this league but it at least makes him worth the nod. Hopefully he’ll come through on Saturday.

Sims-Walker got the job done last night, especially in a PPR league where his six catches probably helped a bit. I don’t usually brag, but I love it when I out-predict ESPN’s Matthew Berry. Here too.

Wat u[ Brandpn. Who should I start, Chester Taylor or Felix Jones in a point for kick return league?

Sorry for the late response. Did you end up starting Jones? Or you going with Taylor?

I’ve never been one to bench my studs… and I’m glad I didn’t last night as MJD and Wayne both had awesome games.

I am worried about Wayne’s PT going into Weeks 16 and 17…

      I have a 67 point head-start going into the weekend….!

Unfortunately Reggie Wayne was playing against me!

i considered benching wayne for a split second, glad i decided not too.

now I gotta decide if I wanna bench Randy Moss and/or Vincent Jackson for Sidney Rice and Robert Meachem.

Did you end up playing Meachem? If not, I’d probably bench Randy Moss and start Sidney Rice. Moss has been horrendous lately and the Bills have a tough pass defense.

If you’re feeling down because you’re already knocked out of your league’s playoffs and can’t stand the thought of a football game tonight without fantasy implications, turn that frown upside down – Fantasy U.S. Supreme Court is IN THE HIZZOUSE! Imagine the trash you’ll be talking when you correctly guess the vote split on the upcoming federal campaign spending case! That’s three points sucka!

Out of these 3, pick 2:

      Arian Foster
      Quinton Ganther
      Ahmad Bradshaw

      Can’t decide…

      Thanks man, as always

I feel like Brandon replied to this elsewhere… Anyway, The picks were Ganther and Bradshaw. Please stay away from the Kubiak Running Back Carousel.

Hey Tommy, I would go with Foster and Bradshaw. Foster is getting more and more rushes against a bad rams defense. And bradshaw is playing an even worse redskins defense. I also read in my CBS sports league that rock cartright will be getting more touches because they like his running style more against the giants strong line but weak secondary and line backers with antonio pierce injured. Hope you listen and you will win.

Hey man who do you think I should play here, Im in desperate need for points this week so I trying to figure out who will put up the most. Obvioculsy.

      Austin Collie
      Dwayne Bowe
      Steve Smith(NYG)
      Davone Bess

      Pick 3?

And what do you think between DeAngelo and Maroney?

      • Tommy 3:06 pm on December 17, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Colston, Sims Walker, and then it’s a tie between Steve Smith and Dwyane Boew in the third spot.

R.I.P. Chris Henry. I had high hopes for him this year but now there is no way he can follow through now. On the bright side, it looks like Andre Caldwell will be moving up the death er… depth chart again.

In need of good advice; I ended the first part of the two-week playoff match 1 point over my opponent, only because he had Kurt Warner (-2 points):

      RB/WR-Reggie Bush

      Randy Moss
      Sidney Rice
      SS (NYG)

      ** Notable Free Agents:
      Quinton Ganther
      Chris Jennings
      Leonard Weaver

Really, really hating Moss and Smith right now… wouldn’t argue much about benching them for the rest of the season 😛
