Ask the Geeks – Week 13: Game-Time Edition

Here are the last Ask the Geek questions for week 13. Hopefully everyone can get a win this week and make the playoffs! Remember, if you have any additional questions, feel free to leave them as comments on our posts and we (or some of our great readers) will try to get back to you with advice before game-time. Good luck!

Jim asks…

Who to play this week 13: Moreno or Addai or McCoy? As a note, no points in our league until you get to 75 yards receiving OR rushing and more points the longer the touchdown

Brandon’s take: Go with Moreno, who has been running great lately and has a great match-up against the Chiefs.

John asks…

2 RB Questions about my PPR money leagues:
1. I’m 9-2-1, and I need a win to get the bye. Thomas Jones has already underperformed for me, and now I have to pick 2 RB’s out of this grab bag that is my week 13 roster: Hightower, Forsett, Turner, Julius Jones, Jerome Harrison, Bradshaw, Chris Jennings, Chris Brown, and Jason Snelling.

2. Similar situation, but week one of playoffs:
This time I need to start 2RBs, 2WRs and a flex. I am planning to start Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon, and Steve Smith (CAR), with one of them as my flex (my only WR’s with Desean out).
Pick 1 RB to start along side LT (or 2 if I should bench one of those WRs):
Kevin Smith, Chris Jennings, Forsett, Mike Bell, Norwood, or Beanie Wells. Bad situation. PLEASE HELP!

Brandon’s take: That’s quite a motley crew of running backs you have there. If I had to pick two though, go with Chris Johnson (Steve Slaton is out) and Julius Jones (Forsett is beat up.) For your running back play in the second scenario, I’d go with Jerious Norwood, who should get the bulk of the carries with Michael Turner out.

Jones asks…

D Williams is questionable for Sunday. If he doesn’t play, who would you put in the FLEX spot instead of him from these choices: McCoy, Smith(NYG), Crabtree, Harvin or Forsett?

Brandon’s take: At this point, it’s hard to bench Percy Harvin, as he’s so dangerous on every play.

Ed asks…

I know this is a lot of people’s dilemma. I have Jones, Forsett, Snelling and Wells as RB (Maroney also but I’m starting him for sure) Jones is starting but Forsett is much better. Snelling is starting or splitting carries? Hightower is not good on passing, start Wells?

I have Roy Williams and Driver to use as flex (currently using Driver) so if you think otherwise, I need to choose 1 RB, or if you think 2 from the list above

Brandon’s take: I’m a little confused with your question, but hopefully I can still help. At your second running back spot, go with Julius Jones. Forsett is beat up and is questionable for the game. Wells has a nightmare match-up with the Vikings and Snelling will most likely backup Jerious Norwood. Use Driver in the flex spot, as he’s a better play than any of those running backs.

Kenny Powers asks…

Aye! Necesito ayuyda! 2WR, 2RB, y un Flex, por favor:

MAustin, Smith (Car), JMaclin, CChambers
MJD, LMcCoy, RCartwright, KSmith, JNorwood

Muchos gracias a ustedes y ojala que hagan bien exelentes con tus partidos tambien!

Brandon’s take: Hola Kenny! En el posición de WR, jugar Miles Auston y Jeremy Maclin. En el posición de RB, jugar Maurice Jones-Drew y Jerious Norwood. En el posición de FLEX, jugar Chris Chambers. ¡Buena suerte!

ffgeekblogROCKS asks…

Hey, guys! League’s been tough since the Ronnie Brown-outing, so I need some lineup help once again!

2WR: AJohnson, Megatron, Avery, Burleson, Avant
2RB: CJohnson, JCharles, Bell, Jennings
and a flex, please!

If I win this matchup, I can clinch a Week 14 bye! Thanks in advance!

Brandon’s take: At wide receiver, go with Andre Johnson and Calvin Johnson, who seems a bit healthier now than in his last game. At running back, Chris Johnson is obvious, but for the other guy go with Jamaal Charles. In the flex spot, go with Avant, who I have high hopes for this week.
