Houston Texans TE Owen Daniels is saying that his scan and MRI indicate that his repaired knee is 100% and ready to go.It would be great to get at least a glimpse of him this preseason, but even without one, I think he makes a great draft pick based on the fact that he’s currently going as around the 8th to 10th tight end and could end up with top 4 numbers.

Question for you guys: my two leagues draft today and tomorrow. Can’t think of a draft strategy for either of them.
League 1 (drafts tonight): 2 QBs start everything else normal, 1 POINT PER RECEPTION!!!!!!!!. Who do you take in early rounds? Driving me crazy. 8 team league
League 2: 2 QBs start as well, but it’s a 10 team league. normal ppr (.5 per reception). Who do you take in early rounds?
position wise

Both leagues seem similar enough to use the same kind of strategy, especially with both being 2 QB. It’s hard to know the exact strategy without knowing your draft pick, but it’s important to get a really good one for your QB1 slot, as that position will provide a lot of your points. Receiving running backs are ideal as well and most of the top guys should get that job done (CJ, MJD, Rice, Gore, AP.) Matt Forte could be a later round sleeper due to the amount of balls he’ll catch out of the backfield. Then, receivers who catch the ball a lot need to be targeted, such as Andre Johnson, Wes Welker, Brandon Marshall, Reggie Wayne, Anquan Boldin, Roddy White, and Larry Fitzgerald (not in that order necessarily.) I’d aim to lock down a solid QB1, RB1 and WR1 with your top three picks, but don’t be pigeon-holed into it if one of the top guys aren’t there anymore.
Not sure if this is helpful at all, but I’d be interested to see how the drafts go. Let us know how it worked out!

Just finished my first league’s draft… Check out this beauty of a draft.
QB Brees
QB Romo
WR Calvin Johnson
WR Brandon Marshall
WR Marques Colston
RB Cedric Benson
RB Jahvid Best
RB Ahmad Bradshaw
TE Jason Witten
TE Zach Miller (we start 2 TEs too)
W/R TJ Housh
BENCH
Michael Bush
Cadillac Williams
Dez Bryant
Matt Cassell
Steve Breaston
Braylon Edwards
Darren Sproles
In a league where most QBs were gone by the 2nd round, and where there is 1 point per reception, I think this team is pretty damn good.
What do you think?

Wow, nice team! I especially like the Brees/Romo combination at the top and those wide receivers. At running back you should be solid too. I think Michael Bush will be decent for the Raiders as long as they can get something going on offense, so he’ll be a good backup for you. Let’s hope tomorrows draft goes as well!

I don’t know but some word of advice…
Because its a ppr league that means if you have any chance of getting ray rice get him.
pass up peterson and mjd.

Just because it’s a PPR league (only 0.5 ppr) doesn’t mean you bail on Peterson and MJD. Both of those guys had 40+ receptions (53 for MJD) and both of their rushing touchdown numbers were much higher than Rice’s. You can’t really go wrong with any of them, but to date, Rice still has the best backup to vulture scores from him with McGahee still on the team. If he’s traded, Rice’s stock goes up even higher of course.

Davone Bess is another guy you might target later in the draft as a WR3 due to the large number of passes he’ll catch, especially now that Greg Camarillo is out of town.

Thanks! Also, the first league has 3 RBs starting and 2nd league has 1 point per 30 return yards (deep league, eh? lol)

Hey guys,
I’m in 10 teamer and had the 4th pick. I got Rice in the 1st, SJax in the 2nd. In the 5th I was able to grab Shonn Greene (yes the 5th). Couple hrs later I found out that I am in a league that scores .5/recep. I have to think that even in a league that rewards receptions, Greene shouldn’t have lasted to the 5th. Nonetheless, I ended up with Kolb at QB (big ? mark in my opinion but think he will excel) and Greg Jennings, Sims-Walker, Harvin, Jacoby Jones, Burleson, Santonio Holmes at WR and feel real weak with them. My question is .. some guy is really on me for Rice. He is offering Wayne and Ronnie Brown for him and I almost want to bite. I feel real confident with starting SJax every week then platooning Greene and Brown depending on matchup. I would hate to give up a top 4 player like Rice but I really want to have a top tier WR .. What you guys think about this trade? And what are your opinions on Kolb this season? Cheers!

Wow you had a really good draft. My advice? Do not give up Rice. In PPR leagues Rice will be big. He catches a lot of passes and is a very competent RB. He should be untouchable. Jennings is already an elite wide-out, and Sims-Walker isn’t bad. Harvin will be good with Sidney Rice injured. And Holmes will be great once he returns from his suspension. I personally think you should go for a different QB. Kolb is a risky starter.

I have six team league, no ppr. Here’s how my draft went
QB Rivers
RB Adrian Peterson
RB Frank Gore
RB Knowshon Moreno
WR Reggie Wayne
WR Greg Jennings
WR Anquan Boldin
WR Santonio Holmes
TE Antonio Gates
TE Jermichael Finley
D 49ers
D Steelers
K Robbie Gould
Your thoughts. Am I weak in any category?
Steven 3:26 pm on August 26, 2010 Permalink |
and also I have QB Eli Manning

Holy smokes, that team seems awesome. Gates AND Finley at tight end? Not diggin’ Santonio Holmes or Knowshon Moreno that much, but the rest is great.
