More updates from final cuts this past weekend

Just wanted to put up a running list of the important transactions that went down this weekend, starting off with one that raises more question marks than I’d like (since I drafted him!)

  • Seattle Seahawks release WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh – There were rumors that Housh might land in Minnesota, especially since the team cut reclamation project Javon Walker over the weekend, but nothing seems to be coming from it at this point. The latest seems to point towards T.J. playing for the Raiders or Redskins…so let’s hope he picks Washington, since Oakland is where receiver’s careers go to die.
  • Minnesota Vikings release WR Javon Walker – See above. Would have been a feel-good story, but in the end it just didn’t work out.
  • Arizona Cardinals release QB Matt Leinart – Apparently there are multiple teams bidding for his services as their backup, which seems odd to me. If he isn’t good enough to back up Derek Anderson, is there another team where he’s qualified? Maybe the Bills?
  • Washington Redskins released running backs Willie Parker and Ryan Torain – I’d stay away from these two in any fantasy drafts you may have left.
  • New York Jets have come to an agreement with CB Darrelle Revis – Unfortunately for Patriots fans, this means that the Jets defense should be at 100% to start the season and could make it a tight race for AFC East supremacy.
