The Wire – Week 4 Pick-ups: BYE Weeks Begin!
Hopefully everyone was as successful as I was in week three, going 4-0 in my leagues. I also came very close to winning three week’s worth of skins in one league for having the most points, but Aaron Rodgers ended up screwing me. Anyways, here’s the preliminary waiver wire list for week four, using my new and improved Google Docs spreadsheet format
I’ve returned to the categories (or similar categories) that I used last year to describe each player and what type of impact they’ll make going forward. Let me know if anyone has any issues with the new format.

Should I drop Palmer for Henne or Sanchez? I need someone to replace Palmer until Roethlisberger is back.
Brandon 1:41 pm on September 28, 2010 Permalink |
Why do you need to replace Palmer? He has Cleveland and Tampa Bay up next. I know he hasn’t been great the past two weeks, but I’d give him the benefit of the doubt over those two.

i would not drop palmer for henne or sanchez, i think sanchez is playing way above his potential, he will go back to his ways next week, and like brandon said, once they get shonn green into action its going to be run run run, brandon who do you like more right now for this trade im working on… i give up a bradshaw, p. thomas , o. daniells and m. clayton FOR rice, mcgahee , calvin johnson and thomas jones

Hmm, that’s an interesting one. I guess I need to know who your starting RB’s would be, as well as who is your TE?

Is it a good move to drop Caddy and add Forsett?? Guys like Hillis aren’t available in my league. Is it time to drop Crabtree? And is Gradkowski a good fill in guy week 4?
Brandon 1:39 pm on September 28, 2010 Permalink |
I’m hearing that Cadillac may be losing some carries, as the coach doesn’t want to wear him down. However, that doesn’t mean Seattle is all of a sudden going to get a running game. I’d keep Cadillac for now. The ESPN rankings have them at nearly the same spot (along with Peyton Hillis):

What do you think about Crabtree and Gradkowski?
Brandon 9:55 am on September 29, 2010 Permalink |
Still think Crabtree can turn it around and maybe the new offensive coordinator is the one to do the trick. As for Gradkowski, I figure he’ll be good for about 190 yards, a touchdown and an interception on an average week. Is that good enough to be your backup?

I just sold Vick to the highest bidder. The #1 pick in our leagues draft. Chris Johnson RB Tennessee Titans. I have Brady so i was fighting myself the past couple weeks on who to start. now i have CJ and no more worries.
Brandon 1:35 pm on September 28, 2010 Permalink |
You traded Mike Vick for Chris Johnson?! Wow. Considering you have Tom Brady (and assuming the rest of your team isn’t terrible) I think you just cemented your spot near the top of the standings.

Looking at making a trade in one of my leagues but really am not sure what to do. Was hoping you could help. I’m trying to trade Arian Foster & Steve Smith (CAR) for Randy Moss, Santana Moss, and either Jerome Harrison or Jamaal Charles.
The guy that would make the trade is absolutely stacked at WR and has no RBs.
My question is should I make this trade and if so which RB should I go after of his?
Chris 3:09 pm on September 28, 2010 Permalink |
The other side of the coin is that it would leave me with Steven Jackson, Justin Forsett, Marshawn Lynch, and whoever the other running back I get would be.
Joe 8:08 am on September 29, 2010 Permalink |
Which three should I start this week? Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Greg Jennings, Austin Collie.
I have had Collie on my bench the first three weeks but I do not know who to bench to put him in.

Wow, that’ll be a tough decision. I’ll have them added to the player ranks for this week soon though:

Could be safe to drop Tolbert, but do it later in the week. Make sure Ryan Mathews will play first.

In a league where scoring is as follows: QB gets 6 pts for TD, -2 for fumble or sack, 1 pt every 25 yards. WR gets 6 pts for TD and 1 pt every 10 yards. At QB I have Bradford and Henne. At WR I have Jennings, Marshall, Maclin, D. Thomas, S. Rice and Breaston. What do you think of trading Maclin for McNabb?
Brandon 2:35 pm on September 29, 2010 Permalink |
I like the idea of trying to upgrade the quarterback position, but A) I’m not a huge McNabb fan and B) you aren’t all that deep at WR at the moment with Rice and Breaston out. At least for the next two weeks, Bradford makes a solid play with Seattle and Detroit on the schedule.
