Adam Schefter is reporting that Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler is OUT this week against the Panthers. Todd Collins will start for the Bears and is not recommended for your fantasy football team.

Should I pick up Carolina D and dump Tennessee D (@ Dallas) this week?

      • Brandon 10:28 am on October 8, 2010 Permalink | Reply

        I would

        • Nero 11:14 am on October 8, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Good; that’s what I did yesterday afternoon! 😉

What about Cincy D? I just saw that they are a FA as well … Cincy D or stick with Carolina D?

If you could have 2 of these 3 TEs going forward: V Davis, D Keller, A Hernandez?

      Thanks in advance–BW

        Davis and Keller

Wow, tough one there. I love Hernandez, but he hasn’t proven to be much of a red zone threat quite yet. Keller has been going nuts the past few weeks, but now that Santonio Holmes is there, things could change. Can you wait another week before making a decision?

so what does this mean for matt forte? will he get more touches or less because of this? ive been debating benching him for the past two weeks…

      • Tommy 11:53 pm on October 7, 2010 Permalink | Reply

        I’d say he gets more…

      • Brandon 10:31 am on October 8, 2010 Permalink | Reply

If I’m a Matt Forte owner, I’m even more worried than usual. The Panthers are solid against the run. Who knows though, maybe Collins dumps it off to Forte a lot…

      Sit or Start?
Kyle Orton who is underrated this week OR Eli Manning who could go big or flounder?

      Defense… Chicago, Cincinnati, or Carolina

        Orton
        Cincinnati

Sorry Tommy, but have to go with Eli Manning here (and Carolina.) Orton is playing the #1 pass defense in the NFL, while Eli is playing the #32 pass defense in the NFL!!!

Went with the Bears D and Orton…
          Thanks anyway.

          • Brandon 6:27 am on October 11, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Probably worked out for you too. Orton is apparently the real deal this year. The Broncos are going the Indianapolis Colts-route…no running game, tons o’ passing! I’m starting him for the remainder until he proves otherwise 🙂

      Waiver Advice

Joseph Addai was just dropped to waivers. I have the second waiver pick and I am not sure if I want to use it to pick him up.

I have Foster, McCoy, and Torain as my RB now. I was thinking about dropping Torain for Addai.

Is it a good use of my waiver spot?

      • Brandon 10:36 am on October 8, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Hmm, you don’t have any other players you would think about dropping for Addai instead of those three? Torain will get more opportunities as his team is less of a pass-first offense…same with McCoy when he’s healthy.

My starters for this week are:
          Carson Palmer
          Reggie Wayne
          Austin Collie
          Greg Jennings
          Arian Foster
          Ryan Torain
          Tony Gonzalez

          Bench
          Andre Johnson
          LeSean McCoy
          Ben Roethlisberger
          Sidney Rice
          Aaron Hernandez
          Brandon Tate

          Who should I drop?

          • Brandon 10:51 am on October 9, 2010 Permalink | Reply

I’d drop Sidney Rice actually. With Randy Moss in Minnesota and no confirmation that Rice will even return 100% at any point this season, he’s not worth the roster spot.

The prevailing wisdom seems to be that Randy Moss will be a fantasy dud this week thanks to a number of factors (first game with a new team, his and Favre’s age, and the fact that Revis held him to two catches last time), but don’t even think about benching him. Favre and Moss are two players who thrive in the spotlight (understatement of the year?), and as good as Revis and the Jets are, they’ll be hard-pressed to stifle an inspired effort from two of the greatest offensive players in the history of the game.

Who knows, Revis could pull his hammy again after a couple plays. But then again, that would mean Moss would have to beat Antonio Cromartie…something he didn’t have a great time doing when the Patriots played the Jets.

Are Twitter and fantasy football going to have an indirect impact on an NFL team’s game plan? If Jaguars wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker has his way, it seems it could…

    • Matt 8:55 am on October 7, 2010 Permalink | Reply

So I guess if your fantasy player is underperforming, give him crap about it on Twitter so he makes a big deal to the media and forces his coach to get him more looks.

Time to log on and send some tweets to Shonn Greene (@shonngreene,) if that’s a real Twitter account…and if I had him on any of my teams!

Finally a football player that cares! Now all we need to do is have RBBC start berating there coaches for more playing time because that way they’d get more consistent fantasy production.

In other news, in case you guys hadn’t noticed, John Carney is playing again for the Saints (as expected) which means that Tecmo Super Bowl officially lives on in the NFL! Last man standing!

Did ESPN’s Matthew Berry rip off my FAIL posts? He’s obviously poking fun at an infamous list going around the web these days, but maybe he borrowed my idea in doing it? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?

Does anybody know what grade that Duke girl got on her thesis? I’m also wondering if she had to give a presentation lol.
