    Here's something I don't understand: W…

Here’s something I don’t understand: WR Mike Williams of the Seahawks is owned in only 26% of Yahoo leagues. You’d think a 10-reception, 123-yard game by a former first-round pick playing for his college coach would turn a few heads. Guess not. Pick him up if he’s available in your league; this could be the start of something interesting.

Good call! I grabbed him off waivers last week as a bye week fill-in in my money league. I can’t believe he is this unowned either. He was a great choice! Would have looked even better if I didn’t have Roddy White on my team. It’s nice surprise to win in a competitive league in a week when Wayne, Foster, and Best are on bye!

I’m glad that I took the opportunity to pick him up where I could in my leagues before posting this. 🙂

Here’s a good question for you… I’ve got Ricky Williams on my bench, pretty much my only droppable guy. Mike’s out there. Use a waiver dropping RW for MW?

Dallas Clark and Austin Collie sidelined for a bit

Indianapolis Colts tight end Dallas Clark makes a catch against the Denver Broncos during the first quarter at Invesco Field at Mile High on September 26, 2010 in Denver. UPI/Gary C. Caskey Photo via NewscomIn case you hadn’t heard yet (and not that it matters that much this week with the team on a bye) it appears that both TE Dallas Clark and WR Austin Collie of the Indianapolis Colts will miss at least a few games. Both of them are nursing hand injuries that could require surgery. I’ve even heard some minor grumblings that Clark could be out for the year! I’m not yet buying into that rumor, but it shows that it could be more than just a minor injury. We’ll be sure to keep you posted with any updates we come across, but for now it appears that the stock of Reggie Wayne and Pierre Garcon will go up a few notches when the team returns in week 8.

Given these injuries and the rising stock (at least temporarily) of P. Garcon, what do you think of the following trade:
I get A. Foster and P. Garcon and give H. Nicks and M. Austin. Here’s my current roster:

      RB Peyton Hillis
      RB Ryan Torain
      RB Deangelo WIlliams
      RB Joseph Addai

      WR Brandon Lloyd
      WR Greg Jennings
      WR H. Nicks
      WR M. Austin

      TE Tony Gonzalez
      TE Aaron Hernandez

WR’s Steve Johnson, Patrick Crayton, Danario Alexander and Mike Williams (SEA) are FA’s in my league as well so I could pick them up to give me some cushion at WR. My main hesitation is that neither Lloyd or Jennings have had their bye week yet.

      What do you think?

How many wide receivers do you start? 3?

          Start 2 and 1 flex wr/rb

      • Brandon 10:52 am on October 23, 2010 Permalink | Reply

I know you need some help at running back, but this is a tough one. Right now you can easily put a WR in your flex spot each week. If you trade away Austin and Nicks, you’ll have to debate starting Garcon and one of your running backs at that spot. I’d pass on this trade and try to find a situation where you can trade one of your top WR’s straight up for a decent RB or something. You don’t want to give up your awesome depth at WR and end up with a situation where you’re mediocre at both positions. Hope this helps 🙂

Grumblings about Clark out for a year = confirmed.

    New look ahoy!

Pardon the dust! I’ve been working on an updated layout to address some issues with the old, greener site, including some serious cross-browser problems. I’ll be tweaking this one for the foreseeable future so if something doesn’t work the way it should, please let me know. We’re keeping the live comments and those should work more or less the same way.
