Marshawn Lynch traded to Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks have worked out a trade with Buffalo for Marshawn Lynch. Per Adam Schefter, “For Marshawn Lynch, Seattle surrendered a 4th-round pick this year and conditional pick in 2012.” Seattle also cut backup running back Julius Jones to make room for Lynch.
This is good news for Lynch, Fred Jackson, and C.J. Spiller, but is a bit of a hit to Justin Forsett’s fantasy value and Julius Jones has even less value (if he had any before.)

So is Lynch worth picking up? (vs Torain, Bush….)
Brandon 4:25 pm on October 5, 2010 Permalink |
I like Bush the most as a one-week play, then Torain the most long term. Lynch is my least favorite of the three, since Seattle forgot how to run the ball once Shaun Alexander left town

Correction, Seattle forgot how to run the ball when Steve Hutchinson went to the Twin Cities. Alexander sucked in his final year in Seattle. Look at Adrian Peterson now.

Its real bad news for Lynch who has no shot of being a productive back behind that O-line in Seattle. While it looks bad for Lynch, C.J. spiller’s stock just skyrocketed. Look for Spiller to breakout now that hes going to get more touches he is more likely to find a rhythm and help out his Harvard QB.

Hey Guys,
I have a pretty crappy WR tandem (Randy Moss/Fitzgerald/Colston, good on paper, but bad so far for me even though I’m 3-1), ad was offered a trade of:
me giving colston and vernon davis
me getting hakeem nicks
i have dustin keller too so i can easily start him over davis (did last week anyway)
Sloth 10:52 pm on October 5, 2010 Permalink |
Nicks is better than Colston but the real target in this trade is Vernon. he has more value than just nicks. you should counter offer for a better receiver.
Nostradamus 3:25 am on October 6, 2010 Permalink |
Terrible Trade! dont give up Vernon and Colston for Nicks. Nicks is better than Colston but Brees is better than Eli Manning and the Giants passing game is awful, they’ve become a run heavy team.
The Saints throw the ball far more than the Giants. This trade is already not that even with Colston for Nicks, but when you throw Vernon Davis in the mix someone is taking trying to take advatage of you. Davis will continue to increase his productivity as he and Alex Smith have found good chemistry. Hes a top 10 TE.
Brandon 2:51 pm on October 6, 2010 Permalink |
Like Slot says, Nicks is an upgrade over Colston, but not worth it at the expense of Vernon Davis. Just because you have depth at a position doesn’t mean you should give it away for free!
Look for a better receiver to get for the two.

[...] would be traded at all. The Bills finally got a deal done today, and they sent Lynch to Seattle for a fourth round pick and a conditional pick. Lynch should complicate things in Seattle, where Justin Forsett was getting most of the work, but [...]

Rumor of Patriots trading Moss to Vikings – sounds like a win for everone

Shhhhhhh…just pick up Brandon Tate if he’s available in your league and don’t tell anyone
By the way, as a Patriots fan, strangely I’m not even against this idea…
TJ 12:38 am on October 7, 2010 Permalink |
Would you rate Tate above Brandon Lloyd for a depth/bench spot? Lloyd seems pretty consistent week to week right now, Tate would be a totally speculative hold, but either would be behind White, Collie, Floyd & Clayton right now (start 2)
Brandon 12:12 pm on October 7, 2010 Permalink |
Stick with Lloyd. Only one to consider would probably be Mark Clayton, but make sure Tate starts doing well first.

I’m in a 30 move max league that starts 1QB, 2RBs, 2WR, 1TE, and a WR/TE flex spot, plus 6 IDP slots, and kicker, we get fractional points for rushing attempts, completions, PPR, pts for return yards, and IDP points
Roster is as follows:
QB-Schaub, E Manning
RB-Mendenhall, Rice, Moreno, Lynch, Fred Jackson, McGahee- added Lynch 2 wks ago and dropped Forsett after the trade
WR-Boldin, Maclin, Walter, Jacoby Jones, Lance Moore
TE-Witten, Olsen
K-Akers
IDP- Freeney, Chung, Antrel Rolle, Posluszny, Ellis Hobbs, DeAngelo Hall
first, how does my roster look? I’m thinking of putting some RBs up for trade to bolster my subpar WR’s, i was just offered Braylon Edwards for Moreno…..he lost Portis, and only other RBs are Ronnie Brown and Benson, Forsett is the best RB in FA pool, he also has Brees, Vick, Collie, Desean Jackson, Crabtree, Santana Moss, Zach Miller, Vernon Davis, what you think? The return of Santonio Holmes kills Edwards value in my opinion, or should I counter for someone else? Also, I like Tony Moeaki’s upcoming schedule, should I consider him over Olsen or Witten? Any help would be sweet, thx!

You could wait a week and see how Edwards does with Holmes back in the line-up if you’re not in a rush. Either way, I don’t really see that trade helping out your team all that much. I’d look for a better receiver, possibly packaging Kevin Walter and Moreno or something.

I picked up BenJarvus off the wire last week. Looking back, I should have picked up Hillis… too late now. But Ryan Torain and Lynch are both available on the wire right now. Would it be worth picking either of them up and dropping BenJarvus or back? I’ve got Moreno, and Ronnie Brown as well.
Also, I’ve got Donald Driver and Hines Ward. Both Decent player who will put up good points occasionally. But with brandon tate stepping up, and davone bess being more of a target(both being on the waiver wire), would they be worth a pickup in exchange for either of Driver or Ward?
One last question: I’ve got Orton and Flacco. Bradford is only getting better. I know it’s a risk but, should I pick up Bradford off the wire in exchange for flacco? He’s playing DET this week, which could mean tasty numbers for Bradford.
Thanks for your advice!
andy 11:19 am on October 6, 2010 Permalink |
Also, throw Michael Bush into that first question. He’s on the wire as well.
Brandon 2:55 pm on October 6, 2010 Permalink |
I actually vote that you make zero moves
The Patriots could work in the run game more with Randy Moss gone, so BJGE could be in for an increase in carries. If you need a running back for one week, I guess you could go with Michael Bush, but he’ll probably move back to a reserve role when Darren McFadden returns. At receiver, Driver should be solid and Hines Ward will put up much better numbers with Roethlisberger returning this week. At quarterback, I like Orton and Flacco more than Bradford this season. Even if Bradford has a good match-up this week, he’ll go through some growing pains over the course of the year and won’t end up being as valuable as the other two.
Brandon 3:05 pm on October 6, 2010 Permalink |
Update: I already changed my mind. Feel free to pick up Ryan Torain and drop BJGE. Apparently Clinton Portis is out for 4-6 weeks with a “separation in his groin”?

I need some IDP help, I have limited moves in my league, 30 to be exact, i am at 12 because of a variety of injuries to my drafted team, so i can’t go picking up the latest flash in the pan IDP stud each week, i need some advice on some reliable options going forward for the rest of the season, guys like Posluszny who i have. any thoughts?
