Randy Moss headed to Minnesota
It’s official, Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss has been traded today to the Minnesota Vikings for a 3rd round draft pick next season. As a Patriots fan, I’m not even sure how I feel about this really. There’s no real way to say how valuable he’s been to the Patriots in weeks where he catches zero passes, but still distracts defenses. I guess we’ll find out soon!
In terms of fantasy, I don’t see this trade really hurting anyone’s value. Brandon Tate becomes the heir-apparent as the deep threat in New England, so pick him up ASAP! Patriots rookie tight end Aaron Hernandez will continue to see more looks from Tom Brady as well. Brett Favre will obviously have a great target and his numbers should get a bit better and I’m sure he’ll force the ball to Moss all day long, so Randy’s value increases too.
Tom Brady’s value is a question mark, but I have a feeling that in the end, he’ll still be putting up numbers like he has so far this year. I can’t see Wes Welker’s numbers changing all that much either, as he’ll continue to be Brady’s favorite target, but is used primarily on the short throws. He could get some more looks in the redzone though I guess.
Maybe the Pats trade Moss and scoop up Vincent Jackson? I wouldn’t be completely against that

Should I add Brandon Tate WR-NE or Danny Woodhead WR-NE?

I assume Tate will be a more consistent part of the offense and is worth a pickup for sure, especially if your league awards points for special teams return yards or points.

Just traded Larry Fitz, Randy Moss, Ryan Torain, and Dustin Keller for Calvin Johnson, Eddie Royal, Ryan Matthews, and Dallas Clark.
Good trade, right?

At this point, with the Randy Moss trade going down this morning, it’s really hard to tell who will win in this trade. I think you probably ended up with the better side of the deal, which is pretty interesting considering where the players ranked at the beginning of the season. However, if Moss turns out to be a monster for the Vikings, you may regret this trade…you’ll have to wait and see though

i am torn. i have sanchez and favre. who to start this week?

Even with Randy Moss on the Vikings now, I think you stick with the hot hand of Mark Sanchez. He’s got home field advantage and who knows what kind of throws Favre will force in there to get the ball to Randy Moss. If the Randy Moss-to-Vikings experiment works out, maybe you switch the two in the future, but not this week.
By the way, I’ve added them to our ranks for this week, so check it out:

who should i start this week for QB while Tom Brady is having a bye week, Palmer or Orton?
Brandon 2:28 pm on October 6, 2010 Permalink |
Orton has been on fire, but he’s playing against a Ravens team that is allowing an insane 119 yards per game through the air and has only allowed one passing touchdown. Stick with Palmer against a softer TB defense.
