The Wire – Week 7 pick-ups: Who's starting Tim Tebow next week?
Here are the potential waiver wire targets for the upcoming week. This week Tim Tebow finally cracks The Wire list and while it’ll be interesting to see how Denver utilizes him for the rest of the season, I’m hoping no one is utilizing him on their fantasy teams! Anyways, I’ve included my thoughts on each player, as well as the percentage owned (taken from Yahoo.) Take a look and see if any of these guys can help patch your squad together and carry you to the Promised Land…

What are your thoughts on Malcolm Floyd going forward – looks like he’s at least out next week, and if his injury lingers, he’s going to run into a possible Vincent Jackson problem just as the fantasy playoffs approach.
Along with Floyd my WRs are White, Collie, Lloyd, and the newly effective Roy E Williams (we start 2, non-ppr). Don’t want to rush into anything just yet, but Deion Branch is out there……. (Britt, Holmes, and Woodhead – unclear if he’s an RB or WR at ESPN are also out there.. As is Sidney Rice, for playoff consideration)
Also – I’m stacked at RB, but other than Ray Rice have only Marshawn Lynch (vs Ari) to start week due to byes. Is Woodhead worth a start over Lynch this Sunday?
Thanks

I’d hang on to Floyd. Branch will be decent, but he’s not going to crack your top 2, so there’s no real need to make the change. If Floyd is able to return soon and plays a few more games as the #1 WR, he’s worth hanging on to.
At running back, I think I do like Woodhead over Lynch. Marshawn could sneak in for a touchdown and negate the difference between the two, but the way Woodhead is being used seems like it’ll give him more potential for fantasy points. Would you have to drop Lynch though?

Yes, I would have to drop Lynch. I don’t really see usuing him beyond this week, though, unless he’s good for trade bait – remaining RBs are Rice, Foster, Best & Tomlinson.

What do you think about KC def going forward over the Saints?? KC has a soft schedule moving forward and it is costly in my league to make changes.

I’d keep the Saints. Their schedule isn’t all that tough either. The Chiefs defense hasn’t scored all that well in terms of fantasy up to this point, so even with a softer schedule, there’s no telling if they can increase the number of turnovers.

Hey guys. I’m in a 12 team league.
I have a trade pending where I send off Ryan Torain and Braylon Edwards for DeSean Jackson.
I’m 3-3 and have Boldin, Wallace, M.Williams (TB), D. Bess.
My other RBs are Foster, Mendenhall, and R. Mathews.
I also have a decent shot at getting Branch/Garcon/Crayton/F.Jackson off the waiver wire. (I’m 6th in order).
Good deal?
Brandon 4:46 pm on October 19, 2010 Permalink |
I wouldn’t do it. Braylon Edwards should be a solid WR2/3 for you each week and Torain is solid RB depth, which you can never have too much of. DeSean Jackson has 2 good games this year and just got his clock cleaned and will miss a game with a concussion. I’d go for Deion Branch instead if you’re worried about WR depth.

My reasoning is that I really wouldn’t start B.Edwards over Boldin or Wallace (now w/ Ben), and I wouldn’t start Torain over Foster/Mendenhall. Also, portis may be back for fantasy playoffs.
So at worst I’m losing guys that are bye week fills or competing for my flex spot and gaining a #1 wideout in 2 weeks.
His playoff schedule is HOU/NYG/DAL.
and he has 3 20 point games and 3 3 point games. 50/50 home run hitter.
I’m still on the fence, especiall if his head is really messed up.

Wondering about Cassell this week. I have Romo in a non PPR league and Palmer in a PPR…thinking about picking Cassell up in both and starting him…

Tommy you are way to high on Torain….he played the 29th ranked rush D last week, playing the 3rd best this week is a lot different.

and if you watched the game he looked awful, though he did peg some points. He is acting like he is breakout runner when he is really a more up the gut type RB. There is no way he continues to score if he keeps going for the sideline…

Is Cutler worth a waiver pickup? League penalizes for sacks. My QB right now is Henne. Cassel also available.

Quick Question. Who’s the better player to stash V-Jax or Sidney Rice? Also, what are your thoughts on Brandon Tate, is he still worth hanging onto?
