    Review: Matchup Huddle

Think you’re a fantasy football guru, but lazy to start your own blog? Then look no further than MatchupHuddle.com (@matchuphuddle)! Not too long ago I wrote a quick overview of FantasyIQ, which allows users to provide advice to others who ask weekly line-up or trade questions. Matchup Huddle is along those same lines, but has many more features (at least at the point of writing this post.)

When you go to the website, the first thing you’ll see is a screen similar to the one below. It will list a few of the match-ups for a given week, all in the format shown, where you either pick one guy or another. Each match-up is rated like ski mountain trails, indicating the difficulty users are having with a particular decision. For example, Adrian Peterson versus Sammy Morris would be a green circle, while Steven Jackson versus Michael Turner could end up being a double black diamond!

Looks cool! I didn’t look deep enough to notice that it actually tracked and compared advice givers. That’s kinda awesome. Too bad I only found out a about it last week 🙁

Are there any rewards/awards on that site for being the best or is it pretty much just a street cred sort of thing?

Just street cred at the moment. Maybe someday they can add something cool. Maybe a widget that you can show on your blog that you were the top picker or something for a given time period?

Clinched the playoffs in my first (and most important league) this past weekend. Only 2 more to go! How’s everyone else looking?

Clinched playoffs this week, and I have a one-game lead over 2nd and 3rd place. I also have about twenty points lead over second place. (It also helps that I have the fewest points against in the league…something I wish I could take credit for).

      Thanks for all the advice!

You can take credit for being such an intimidating team and scaring your opponents players? Or just take credit for being luckier than everyone else, hah

I started the year off horribly but have recovered nicely. I was only .500 in my 5 fleaflicker leagues but a combined 19 game win streak has seen my teams vault into much better positions.

Yahoo is really hit or miss. My keeper league is dead last in the league despite scoring the 3rd most points. Then again drafting Floyd, Matthews, Pierre Thomas, and Forsett will do that to a team. In my money league however, I’m in a 5 way tie for second place at 7-4 and there are only 4 playoff spots! Luckily, I have a large edge in points scored and my schedule is easy from here on out. To make things better I snatched Sidney Rice off of waivers this week after the guy owning him dropped him when it was reported he wouldn’t play this year!

Rapiddraft is hit or miss too. All of my teams are top 5in their leagues but only 1 is winning the league. My best team is top 800 with a few more in the top 3000. My best team placed 12th in scoring last week and I like my chances with it. I’m hoping to pull down some cash.

Yahoo salary cap which moved to facebook is going very well as my team stands at #457 (Top 0.8%). Hopefully I can keep it up!

Add to that a 200% profit on centsports betting on the season and the fact that I’m destroying in every league I play in with my friends and I’m having a good year! It’s not last year but .650 and 5-10 titles doesn’t look out of the question!

Wow, you put my 3 real leagues to shame! Maybe if I want to win more, I need to enter more leagues!

For sure! It really doesn’t take too much time assuming your leagues have similar scoring systems. I only spent an hour or two setting lineups each week plus another one or two for waiver acquisitions. I found this was only a little more time than I put in each week for 2-3 leagues a year. Ofcourse I don’t have a blog so I actually have some extra time to spare lol.

I’d love to play in a league with you guys next year if you’re up for it!

Ugh, my record is a Jacksonville Jaguar-like 6-5 and I’m on life-support for a playoff spot…. This has been my worst fantasy season and I’m stuck with a patchwork team…. My fate has already been determined considering that all of the following players are injured: Vernon Davis, Hakeem Nicks, Steve Smith and Austin Collie.

Still working the #2 spot in my division. I haven’t clinched, but I should still make it barring a complete nosedive these last two games.
I’m in a 10 team, 2 division league. The top three in each division go to the play-offs with the top spot receiving a bye for the first round. So far, I hold the tie breakers, but I need some help to force a tie. The bye would be nice, but making the play-offs is the goal.
Good luck to all and have a happy & safe Thanksgiving weekend!!
