Gates and Floyd are out

Get them out of your lineup pronto.

Thank you SO much for posting this. I had Floyd starting and would have accidentally left him in otherwise! Yikes.

I’m sure a lot of people left Floyd in there; all indications were that he was going to start.

This weeks FAIL has to start with Vernon Davis. 1 catch for 4 yards? Come on, man!!

Seriously…

Ryan Mathews deserves a spot on the list – they gave him 17 carries but he only mustered 56 yards, and the Chargers made it pretty obvious that they trust Tolbert more. What a total bust he’s been this season.

Start Vikings QB Joe Webb as your WR3?

At the moment, it appears that rookie quarterback Joe Webb will start for the Minnesota Vikings this weekend. With Brett Favre and Tavaris Jackson sidelined, Webb is next in line to take the reins against a tough Chicago defense, even though the team recently signed Patrick Ramsey. The interesting thing about Webb is that Yahoo lists him as both a QB and WR, meaning you could start a starting quarterback as a wide receiver if you’re so inclined. I’m debating whether to start him in my leagues right now and am waiting to hear more about the situation before deciding for sure, but the intrigue was enough that I picked him up in my leagues. You might think about doing the same in yours!

Disclaimer: I take no responsibility if he goes out and gets destroyed by Chicago and puts up negative points or something…but I take all the credit if he throws for 200 yards, throws for a score and runs for another!

Wow. What a thought. I’m nervous playing with such fire and gimmicks during the playoffs, but it sounds like so much fun!

Talk about high risk/high reward…
If it weren’t “one-n-done” time, I would seriously consider it!

Thant and I will be starting the Chicago D/ST id Webb starts at QB. Rookie QB taking his first snaps outside in Minnesota in December on Monday Night Football?!? The Bears will have drool frozen to their faces before the warm-ups are done!!

I might not end up “playing with fire”, but at least I’ll have the fire on my bench so no one else can play with it 🙂

I may be using that type of strategery this weekend too. My opponent has Rodgers as his ONLY QB. I may grab one just to keep him from getting a decent starter. It’s a 10 team league with 18 players rostered, so there is plenty to pick from so I won’t be killing him, just narrowing his choices.

i think i am really gonna take the risk and pick him up and play him as my WR… I mean honestly if he only throws for like 150 yards and runs for another 30 and a TD your Golden

My worry is that he goes Kyle Orton on us and ends up with a negative score or something! Or worse, he goes Todd Collins on us, throwing for 32 yards, 4 INTs and gets sacked a couple times :-/

I grabbed Webb for shits and giggles lol. My team had been dubbed the “QB Carousel Calamity” because I’ve had at least 3 QBs on my roster all season. This week with Webb I have 4 lol. Might as well win my playoff game in style!

alright guys, it’s Fantasy Football playoff time. I made the playoffs in all 3 of my leagues (14-team league with a 6-8 record … 4 other teams had a 6-8 record, however I had the most points amongst those 6-8 teams … w00t); anyways, here is where I stack up in each of my leagues – tell me who to start/sit:

12-team league playoffs:
QB Kerry Collins
QB Aaron Rodgers (looking like he’s out)
QB/WR Joe Webb
WR Greg Jennings
WR Percy Harvin
WR Pierre Garcon
WR Austin Collie
RB/WR Danny Woodhead
RB LeSean McCoy
RB Steven Jackson
RB Ronnie Brown
RB Ricky Williams
TE Vernon Davis

start: 1 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 WR/RB – so far, I’ve got Collins, Woodhead, Webb, McCoy, Jackson, Davis, Brown, Suisham (K – PITT), and NYG DEF
the team I’m playing against currently has: Kitna, Colston, Britt, Mendenhall, Bradshaw, Zach Miller, Anthony Dixon, Vinateri (K), and OAK DEF

Woodhead and Webb are my players i’m contemplating …

14-team league playoffs:
QB Kerry Collins
QB Aaron Rodgers (looking like he’s out)
QB/WR Joe Webb
WR Kenny Britt
WR Austin Collie
WR Anquan Boldin
WR Stevie Johnson
RB Jamaal Charles
RB Michael Bush
RB Brian Westbrook
RB Anthony Dixon

start: 1 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 WR/RB/TE – so far, I’ve got Collins, Britt, Joe Webb, Jamaal Charles, Michael Bush, Vernon Davis, David Akers (K), and PITT DEFin …
the team I’m playing against currently has: Flacco, Miles Austin, Marques Colston, Michael Turner, Peyton Hillis, Matt Forte, Matt Bryant (K), and SD DEF …

I’m playing the #1 ranked team this week in the playoffs and pretty much have a crappy team, especially with Rodgers biting the dust and possibly not playing this Sunday night. So is benching Westbrook for Michael Bush a good play? McFadden+Bush killed Denver, at Denver, earlier in the year – and their run def is last in the league … also, not sure about Joe Webb … just trying to balance a MNF player for his MNF player (Forte) …

Wowsers…any way you can just decipher who to start off the player rankings for this week? 🙂

• Hawgman 9:38 am on December 17, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Depending on how he does this week and if I make it to next week, he might be worth the $5 it will cost me to pick him up…
