The Oakland Raiders have just signed TE Kevin Boss to replace the recently departed Zach Miller. Should fit in well and will be relied on pretty heavily by quarterback Jason Campbell.

Darren McFadden out two weeks of camp with fractured orbital bone

    Some random football updates:

    • After talking up Darren McFadden in a previous post, it seems he’ll now miss two weeks of training camp with a fractured orbital bone in his face. Backup Michael Bush is still an unsigned restricted free-agent, so I assume the team will get moving on signing him as soon as possible, as their other options aren’t anything special. I still like McFadden this year and a face injury isn’t something that will prevent him from racking up fantasy points this season.
    • WR Craig “Buster” Davis has signed with the Buffalo Bills. I’m sure Matt is super excited about this one!
    • WR Kenny Britt has missed seven days of training camp so far and blames his yoga instructor for not properly making his hamstrings flexible or something. As always, he’s an injury waiting to happen, so keep that in mind if you’re targeting him in your draft.

I am getting sick of Buddy Nix taking all of his draft busts from the Chargers and bringing them to Blo.

Yep, it’s a little disconcerting, no doubt.

So my nfl.com draft already took place and i think it’s a little early, 10 team league, the team I ended up with is
Matt Ryan, Lesean McCoy, Mendenhall, Fitzgerald, Miles Austin, Jimmy Graham, one W/R flex from this bench, Austin Collie, Brandon Lloyd, Mark Ingram, Felix Jones, Roy Williams, Mike Williams TB…my concerns are McCoy losing TD’s to Ronnie Brown, the value and talent of DeMarco Murray in Dallas, and Brandon Lloyd not having McDaniels pass happy offense. Should I take a chance on rookies like DeMarco Murray or Ryan Williams out of AZ instead of having a plethora or WR’s on my bench, my logic was get some WR’s for trade bait since a lot of teams didn’t draft WR depth.

I like Matty Ice at quarterback and plan to target him as my QB1 in as many leagues as I can. I’m not a huge LeSean McCoy fan this year, but he should do alright and between Mendenhall, Felix Jones and Mark Ingram, you should find someone to plug in your RB2 spot from week to week. You’re pretty good at WR with Fitz, Austin, Lloyd and Mike Williams. Austin Collie and Roy Williams are expendable if you can get someone to take them off your hands. I’d stick with what you have otherwise though and wait and see. DeMarco Murray is a third stringer to start the year and we saw what kind of quagmire the Dallas backfield was the past few years.

I forget who it was, but someone on the Falcons was loving Julio Jones, saying he was the best rookie receiver that they’d ever seen or something….so nice pick up!

Braylon Edwards signs with the San Francisco 49ers

Edwards just signed a one year deal with San Francisco for $3.5 million, which is apparently a little more than the Jets paid Plaxico Burress. How Braylon Edwards can swindle any team for that amount of money after what he’s going through off the field is beyond me. He does give Alex Smith some interesting receiving weapons if Michael Crabtree can get on the field, considering they also have one of the top tight ends in the game. I’m still wondering who will sign T.O. though.

In other news, receiver Legedu Naanee has signed with the Carolina Panthers and will most likely start opposite Steve Smith. I’m not drafting him.
