Peyton Manning out minimum 2-3 months

This Peyton Manning talk is getting crazy. While most (all?) fantasy football drafts have come and gone, I hope you didn’t spend a high pick on him. Apparently he had another neck procedure and will miss 2-3 months at a minimum. At this point I can’t even recommend having him on your roster as a backup quarterback unless you have a deep bench and can carry three quarterbacks.

Maybe this is his way of making the debate between he and Tom Brady easier. Now they can compare a season of the Patriots without Tom Brady to a season of the Colts without Peyton Manning to see who is more valuable!

Apparently the operation he had is called a “cervical fusion.” I always knew Peyton Manning had a cervix.

Looks like the NFL teams have been instructed to display fantasy stats on the jumbo-tron during their games in a ploy to keep fans coming to the stadiums. Seems like a pretty cool idea, even though I’m sure a lot of the actual football players/coaches won’t love it. It’ll be funny to hear different packets of people at a live game cheering during random points in the game because a player’s 80 yard touchdown run just flashed on the board.

Yahoo no longer considers Danny Woodhead a wide receiver. Last year he had both RB and WR eligibility. Just sayin’.

ESPN is the same way. He was a nice super-flex last year.

    Yahoo Fantasy Points Against

For all of you who use Yahoo! for your fantasy football leagues, they’ve added a new feature (at least I think it’s new?) this year called Fantasy Points Against. You can find it under the Research tab in your league and it’s very similar to the ESPN version that we previously listed on our Tools page. You can use this to see how each team has fared against different positions in terms of fantasy points allowed, so check it out! (More …)
