Should i trade Matt Cassel for Ben Roethlesberger

      • Brandon 8:45 am on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

If you can get Big Ben for Cassel, do it in a heartbeat!

        • andy 6:55 pm on September 20, 2011 Permalink | Reply

made the trade and my asshole commissioner vetoed it.

          • Brandon 10:35 pm on September 20, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Yeah it seems like a rip off (with you benefiting.) The guy must not have much idea what’s going on to trade for Cassel. Can you just ditch Cassel for Hasselbeck or Fitzpatrick or something?

I’ve had a monster this week! Arod looking good with Jerm for a big season. Foster killing me but the likes of Vjax, Brady, Henderson (gronkowski in the flex) brought it home for me! Ryan Grant is probably going to find himself on the waivers this week he is as good as useless- would you agree?

      • Brandon 8:45 am on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Yeah, I wasn’t a Ryan Grant fan to begin with, and now I’m even less of one 🙂

Okay, so after weeks 1 and 2 i’m deciding to take a look at my Defenses.
Currently I have Washington and Houston. I’m thinking of picking up the Detroit or Tennessee defense though, what do you think?

      • Brandon 8:52 am on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Detroit and Tennessee both have pretty good schedules and are doing great so far. I don’t love the next month on Houston’s schedule, but after that it’s pretty solid. Maybe drop Washington for Detroit and rotate them and Houston.

someone wants to trade me tolbert for mccluster, should i?

      • Brandon 8:48 am on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Before yesterday, this would have been a steal. Now, with Jamaal Charles out for the season, it evens out somewhat. I still think Tolbert has way more value though, as he’s part of a great offense and scores lots of touchdowns. Is this a Yahoo PPR league by the way?

        • Rudy 11:11 am on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

          no its not ppr

          • Rudy 11:15 am on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

so would you take tolbert? i would it just i felt like i was missing something

    • JB 9:58 am on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

      Here is my team:
      QB: Rivers and Stafford
WR: Miles Austin, Anquin Boldin, Jordy Nelson, Mike Thomas, Dexter McCluster(thank you Brandon)
RB:LeSean Mccoy, Ryan Mathews, Jonathan Stewart
TE: Jermichael Finley and Aaron Hernandez
      1. should I be looking to trade QB/TE to better WR/RB?
I have been doing ok so far, but lots of points sitting on bench.
      2. If so, who should I be going after?

      • Brandon 3:35 pm on September 20, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Probably won’t get as much value for Hernandez at this point in a trade. Like the idea of trading a QB for an upgrade at another position though. Maybe trade Rivers and Nelson in a package for a top tier WR.

  • Brandon 12:38 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink

Looks like Calvin Johnson, Stevie Johnson, Santonio Holmes and Brandon Lloyd are all expected to play, so get them in your line-up

deangelo williams, johnny knox, or robert meachem as flex???? help please

  • Brandon 10:46 am on September 18, 2011 Permalink

Any last minute line-up changes? I’ll try to be back on about 30 minutes before the first games to give last second advice. If I miss you though, good luck!

I have Hakeem Nicks in my flex spot right now, and I have Cadillac Williams and Domenik Hixon set as backups just in case he doesn’t play. My question is, should forgo the last min decision and put in Nate Burleson (WR) instead?

First season and I’m loving this. This site is a great resource too thanks!

      • Brandon 12:55 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Nah, I like Cadillac Williams or Nicks over Burleson, so as long as you’ll be by your computer Monday night, keep Burleson sidelined. Good luck!

Can’t decide on my flex. Cadillac Williams, Maclin, or Ben Tate?

      • Adam 12:16 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

That’s really tough because you won’t know whether Caddy or Jackson are starting until Monday. He’s the best option if Jackson doesn’t play. Do you have any backup option on Monday night? If not, it just comes down to your comfort with risk and how the rest of your team looks compared to your opponent. How’s that for a non-answer?

      • Brandon 12:58 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I’m pretty sure Jackson won’t play on Monday and at least Cadillac will get some carries. He has the highest upside, since I think Arian Foster plays and steals most of Tate’s carries and the jury’s still out on the health of Maclin.

      • Brandon 8:53 am on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Wow, Maclin is apparently REALLY healthy! If you could predict the future, maybe you played him over Cadillac? 🙂

    • Adam 11:34 am on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Last flex spot: Davone Bess or Addai? Or I can play both and sit Cadillac. I don’t have Jackson, so Caddy is a bit risky, but if he’s the starter, he’s the best of the three. I do have Kendricks on my bench, so worst case if Caddy doesn’t start I can stick Kendricks in there.

In my other league, I’m currently sitting Blount and playing Cedric Benson (and McCoy, Foster and Hightower). Do you agree?? Benson has the better matchup, but Blount has something to prove.

      Fun, fun…

      • Adam 12:47 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Help! I’m really torn between Addai and Bess.

    • TJ 11:36 am on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Nelson (GB) or Manningham @ [email protected]? Nicks looks like he’ll probably be playing….

      • Adam 12:14 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

        I’d go with Manningham

      • Brandon 12:43 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Nicks playing is actually a good thing for Manningham, as it’ll free him up a lot more. Go Mario and good luck!

        • TJ 12:52 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

THo now Holmes is a go – if healthy he’s a better bet than Manningham, you think?

          • Brandon 12:53 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

            Still like Manningham

          • Brandon 12:54 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

It’s close now. Wouldn’t be against starting both if possible! I’d be worried that Holmes has a setback or isn’t 100% though. He has a good match-up otherwise.

            • TJ 12:57 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink

I think I’ll stick with Manny… hate the uncertainty of an injury. WR1 is Megatron, should be ok there.

          • Brandon 8:54 am on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Nelson gets REALLY lucky with his one huge catch and Holmes is also lucky he found the endzone as his yardage wasn’t anything great. Let’s hope Manningham can live up to my lofty expectations tonight!

One more….Last WR/TE flex: Henderson or Lee Evans?

    • Natalie 11:48 am on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Having trouble with my flex spot in my Yahoo league again. So many choices! Good problem to have I guess. Do I start Santana Moss, Davone Bess, LT, Fred Davis, or Deon Branch????? Yikes!

      • Natalie 11:52 am on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Sorry, Deion Branch, but I’m sure you know who I mean, lol.

      • Brandon 12:44 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I’d go Santana Moss. He looks to be the main main in Washington. Good luck!

Devery Henderson or Malcolm Floyd in my last flex spot

      • Adam 12:14 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I’d go with Floyd. Lance Moore is starting for NO, so that pushes Henderson down a bit. That said, I’m planning to go with Henderson in a flex spot. I don’t have someone else at Floyd’s level to question that.

      • Brandon 12:42 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Seems that Lance Moore will be playing, which might take some looks away from Henderson. Gamble on Floyd and hope the Chargers can do the same type of thing the Dolphins did last week to the Pats (pass for tons of yards!)

      • Brandon 8:57 am on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Bad break here with that huge touchdown from Henderson. Hopefully it didn’t cost you the win!

        • Wolf 1:08 pm on September 21, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Nope. Luckily just a flex spot and of course on top of the long touchdown, Floyd then got hurt and sat out the rest. But I still handily won, in fact highest score of the 8 team league. Vincent Jackson made sure to take over where Floyd might have been played lol (my WR1).

cant decide between Felix Jones or Ben Tate any suggestions

      • Brandon 12:40 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Felix Jones for sure. Arian Foster is supposed to play and take the majority of the carries from Tate.

        • Brandon 8:58 am on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I guess Tate will still get a lot of looks, especially now that Foster may have re-injured himself. As for Felix Jones, a separated shoulder isn’t good either!

Packers or Texans this week? Also i have 2 wide receivers on questionable list this week. Assuming both play Dez Bryant or Brandon Lloyd? I just added Johnny knox too to add to this confusion

      • Brandon 12:46 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Doesn’t look like Bryant is playing, so that should solve your debate. Lloyd on the other hand IS playing, so roll with him.

    • TJ 1:03 pm on September 18, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Now a D/ST decision – got NE in for the P/K return yardage and scores, vs SD’s lousy special teams. But…. Texans look like a good play today, maybe Raiders too…. Anyone got a strong opinion here?
