Aaron Hernandez, I’m fine with you giving up two touchdowns to your buddy Rob Gronkowski, but did you have to go and get hurt too?! Hopefully it’s just normal soreness and I don’t have to bench you…

Sprained MCL. Sorry bud. On the bright side, at least he won’t share any of the blame when the Bills shock the Pats next weekend.

Hah. I’m not too worried about that. Maybe Ochocinco will actually make an appearance, but even if he doesn’t, the Gronk/Bash Brothers will be more than the Bills can handle!

Hey I have a couple trade options in a 16 team league and need another opinion. I could trade jerm finley straight up for mike williams (tb) and be left with fred davis at te the rest of the year or I could trade some combo of finley, fred davis chad henne and ben tate for mike wallace. Thoughts?

      • Brandon 3:25 pm on September 20, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Keep Ben Tate if you need help at RB, just know his value has gone up quite a bit in the past week or so. Feel free to trade one of those TE’s though, as either will hold down the position admirably.

I have Hernandez and no back-up TE, I would like to hang onto him.. drop sid rice or mark ingram?

      • Ryan 5:15 pm on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Easily drop rice. The secret to fantasy success this year is to own as few Seahawks as possible.

      • Brandon 3:26 pm on September 20, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I see no reason to hang on to Sidney Rice at this point. That offense is terrible. What backup will you get?

I ended up with tony gonzalez, not thrilled but He will work as a plug in till Hernandez comes back,

Thought you guys might get a kick out of this. I had some success in a fanduel freeroll this week. Just wanted to give credit to the guys that helped turn my fantasy football hobby into an obsession a few years back. FF Geek for life!

This is still Squish by the way, I just lost my login info and my old e-mail account doesn’t exist to recover it. Any chance I could reset it or something so that I can login again?

You won $150? Sweet! As far as your e-mail account, that’s something Matt would have to answer for you.

      Need some advice tonight –

      – WR: pickup D Moore or Decker?
      – QB – I have Ryan & Fitzpatrick, worth dropping one for Cam? Difficult, but not impossible, to carry 3 qbs.

      • Brandon 3:29 pm on September 20, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I’m leaning towards Decker and even David Nelson over Denarius Moore. Moore is my third option. At QB, see if you can get Cam. Then maybe you can trade Fitz or Ryan for an upgrade at another position? With this running, Newton has the chance to be a top fantasy QB this year.

I have Gates this year. Somehow he delivered a big fat doughnut for me! Ain’t gunna bench him though. The Pats had him double covered even in the locker-room at half-time! Picked up Fitzy and Chandler as backups, but I may play both of them against the Pats this week. My feeling is they will target Stevie and leave Chandler to roam free underneath. Big Ben is not putting up the numbers I hoped he would, so maybe he needs a rest…

      • Brandon 12:09 pm on September 21, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Yeah keep Gates in there, he shouldn’t put up any more goose eggs this year. I’m not sure why the Patriots felt that was the best way to defend the Chargers, as V-Jax went wild on them and it was the turnovers that saved them, not the fact that they stopped Gates.

Not a good week for fantasy football top round draft picks

Maybe there is some league out there that had this unfortunate draft?

    1. Arian Foster – Re-injured hamstring
    2. Adrian Peterson – Great game!
    3. Jamaal Charles – Out for year with a torn ACL
    4. Michael Vick – Knocked out of game with a concussion
    5. Chris Johnson – Still underperforming
    6. Steven Jackson (ok, maybe a reach…) – Questionable for game with sore quad
    7. Felix Jones (another reach) – Out for a few weeks with seperated shoulder
    8. Miles Austin – Great game, but at a cost. Could miss games with hamstring injury
    9. Tony Romo (alright, now we’re getting silly) – Broken ribs could keep him out for some time
    10. Brandon Lloyd – Sat out with groin injury

Only five of those are first rounders…

      • Brandon 11:55 am on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Yeah I realized that once I started listing them out, but the amount of injuries to high profile players caused me to write it. I tried to be sarcastic in the intro sentence, but I guess it wasn’t so obvious.

Either way, you got the point right?

        • Matt 2:16 pm on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

You should have specified that these are the first-round picks everyone would have if we all went with the advice you get when SportsCenter gets a panel of coaches and retired players together to do a segment on fantasy football.

      11. Aaron Hernandez – Out 1-2 weeks with a sprained MCL.

Not a good week indeed..I had Charles and Jones…Who is the best off waivers?? KC RBs and the team are in for a long season and a tough schedule. What are your thoughts on McGahee??

      • Brandon 10:54 am on September 20, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I bet McGahee splits carries all season now with Moreno, who they’ll try to keep as healthy as possible. I guess I like McGahee over Thomas Jones, but McCluster has the highest upside.

Should I drop F. Jones and add Choice??

      • Brandon 10:53 am on September 20, 2011 Permalink | Reply

No, Felix Jones might even play this week, but it’s unlikely. If he doesn’t play, rookie DeMarco Murray probably has the most upside, but you should drop another guy to get him for when Felix Jones is healthy.

Jamaal Charles out for the year with torn ACL

Looks like the Chiefs superstar running back will miss the rest of the year with a torn ACL. Thankfully I didn’t draft him in any of my leagues, but I’m sure plenty of our readers did. Hopefully everyone strongly considered my advice regarding Dexter McCluster last week!

Okay…So I had/have both Charles and F. Jones..yep the curse continues. So who should I pick up or try to?? Thomas or McCluster??

      • Brandon 3:34 pm on September 20, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I like Dexter McCluster, as I don’t see the team running all that much this year. They’ll be down early and throw a lot, where McCluster could be used. He seems to have fumbling issues though, so hopefully he can hold on to the ball. Jones will be the more consistent option, but he probably won’t score more than a couple points a week for your team. In the short term Willis McGahee has the most value, but if you’re looking for a season long option, gamble on McCluster.

    • jmac 10:29 am on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

McGahee is also available..the waiver wire vultures will be out so I need the best for now until I can propose a trade.

    • jmac 10:31 am on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

And I guess Tashard Choice…wow not enough bench space for all of these maybes..

      • Brandon 3:30 pm on September 20, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Don’t bother with Choice. DeMarco Murray could be the best backup if Felix Jones misses time, but he’ll probably split carries with Choice.
