Yeah, just like I want to forget that I left LT on my bench yesterday. Who would have thought he’d have that kind of game, really? And Fitz, geez! I think I am placing him as my number 1 QB OVER Matt Ryan! What was up with week 3???

          • Brandon 3:00 pm on September 26, 2011 Permalink | Reply

You mean Ryan Fitzpatrick? I had him ranked above Matt Ryan this week since he was playing the no-defense-whatsoever-Patriots! He looks like a pretty solid start in most weeks too as he has some decent receivers to throw too with Stevie Johnson, David Nelson, Scott Chandler and Donald Jones.

            • Natalie 8:44 am on September 27, 2011 Permalink

Yes, Fitzpatrick. Wow! I wish the Colts had him right now, lol! I am starting him from this point forward! I lost this week in Fantasy due to my starting QB’s Rivers and Ryan. RATS!

          • Brandon 2:17 pm on September 27, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Hah, I can’t imagine Fitz will outscore Rivers and Ryan every week, but occasionally he might be the right play. Don’t let a game against the Patriots settle it for you though…otherwise you might be starting Chad Henne after the first game of the year!

Brady, 4 picks and still amasses nearly 30 points… Beast! with Foster and Hillis my feature RBs I was in trouble this week and had a dream (sunday 1pm games are 3am in australia hence the dream) Gronkowski got a whopping 20 points… when I woke up..ohh it was a dream- check the scores HE GOT EVEN MORE HE’S A BEAST. Finley and Gronk getting stuff done for me at TE/Flex !!!

Hi I am in a touch scenario i have a 1 point lead in my match up going into tonights game my opponent has only witten And i have dallas defense and am uncertain who to start felix jones or roy helu i am 0-2 so far this is crucial

      • Brandon 2:58 pm on September 26, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I think if Felix Jones does indeed play you need to start him over Helu. Neither are great plays, but the fact that Felix Jones will get starter reps as long as he can stand it seems better than hoping that the Redskins run a ton and use both Hightower and Helu. Both the Cowboys and Redskins have been solid against the run this season so far. Either way, good luck. Hopefully you’re 1-2 when the dust settles!

Thanks alot brandon im gunna start jones i have a felling helu is going to produce tn i think dallas cant tackle and hes faster just not the starter,……I want to trade rivers for a wr who would be fair to trade him for?

          • Brandon 8:15 pm on September 26, 2011 Permalink | Reply

He’s one of the better QBs in the league (even if he’s throwing a boatload of INTs right now!) so make sure you get a good one. You might aim for a guy like Larry Fitzgerald, Vincent Jackson or Greg Jennings. You probably can’t get these guys straight up, so you’ll want to package a lesser WR with the deal and get a lesser QB in return as well.

            • Brandon 9:20 pm on September 27, 2011 Permalink

Roethlisberger is your other quarterback? I’d probably keep Rivers if that was the case, but otherwise, yeah Jennings is a near-top tier receiver and would be a great addition to Wallace and those other receivers.

Did Felix Jones save the day?!

            • Joe 5:17 pm on September 27, 2011 Permalink

I have big ben that i traded for meacham i have henderson, funny thing is i dropped sidney rice but kept my eye on him for that matchup bs az. I can trade jennings for rivers straight up my team will be berger wallace jennings rice/henderson/crabtree as the 3rd with chris johnson and felix/moreno,…..is it really a fair trade jennings for rivers straight up?and thank you for your insight.

            • Joe 1:50 pm on September 28, 2011 Permalink

Hey brandon thanks for the great advice so far,…. Well i did trade rivers i gave up rivers and crabtree amd got jennings and hightower,…..now my question is who is a better play at wr 3 sidney rice or henderson???,….and i have chris johnson which is a headache and felix jones and hightower who should i be starting?

          • Brandon 2:02 pm on September 28, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Wow, you got a nice deal there (again, assuming Big Ben holds down the QB position.) Like how you got Hightower in there too. As for your receiver and running back questions, I’ll have the rankings post for this week up soon, so leave a comment there and I’ll add them to the ranks to answer your questions.

            • Joe 12:20 pm on September 30, 2011 Permalink

Hey brandon how’s everything going on man soooo i’m 1-2 with another crucial matchup my opponent has brady and ray rice,….so i have cj2k starting should i go with jones or hightower?,….i dropped dallas defense picked up vikings,…..I have texans, bears,Titans available what do u think and very last question sidney rice or henderson whos going to be luckier lol?

          • Brandon 1:23 pm on September 30, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Glad to hear you got the win last week! I love Minnesota’s defense this week, so stick with them. As for who to start along side Chris Johnson, go Tim Hightower. At receiver, I’d roll the dice on Sidney Rice. With Marques Colston returning, Henderson could see a few less looks and Signey Rice racked up tons of receptions last week in his first action of the year. Good luck!

            • Joe 11:56 am on October 3, 2011 Permalink

Well everything went wrong this week but i won my match 73 to 66 and the guy had brady and rice lol,…..i am in big trouble though i have moreno as my only #2 rb for week 5 i need advice of a qb from waivers,…..big ben is hurt who do i replace him with off waivers?do i hold bernard scott also ?and i do not feel good starting hightower ever again should i drop him because i only have 4 bench spots,…..Thanks alot brandon you’ve been a great deal of help and luck.

          • Brandon 4:49 pm on October 3, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Hmm, maybe I jinxed Big Ben or something! I guess I’d need to know the options available on your waiver wire before giving you advice. At running back, check out the waiver wire post I put up tomorrow to see the best options, but the names coming to mind are Ryan Torain, Steven Ridley or maybe even Michael Bush. Bernard Scott is annoying me, since he was supposed to start while Cedric Benson was out…but that never seemed to happen (at least not yet!) I hate to tell you to drop him as the ruling could come right after I do, but since he’ll only really have value for three weeks, it might be worth it anyways. Hope this helps!

            • Joe 7:05 pm on October 3, 2011 Permalink

I wouldnt say you jynxed him cus he always gets hurt but plays it is revealed its a sprain so he should play,….my options at qb are orton freeman dalton jackson sanchez grossman alex smith,….rbs are Ridley lynch hunter Bush grant Barber and redman what do i do with moreno?

Need some advice moving forward…I have a decent team but it’s not getting it done. Should I pick up D. Moore and drop D. Henderson?? Do you like Hasselbeck, Grossman or Kolb as backup?? And I have NE def and need an upgrade..any suggestions?? Thanks

      • Brandon 3:43 pm on September 26, 2011 Permalink | Reply

My advice is to stick with Henderson, who I think will still be slightly more consistent than Moore. He has a much better quarterback throwing the ball his way too. As for a backup QB, Hasselbeck is your man. The other guys are half-way decent, but Hasselbeck has been solid. As for NE, ditch keeping a single defense and just rotate each week based on the match-ups. Teams playing the Seahawks, 49ers and Bengals would be a start.

        • Jog_JMC 7:42 pm on September 26, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Good advice. What about Nate Washington? Henderson has a lot to compete with in NO. I agree great QB but you never know??

          • Brandon 8:16 pm on September 26, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Yeah I like Nate Washington more than Henderson. Hasselbeck has made his top WR put up big numbers through the first three games, so hopefully he can continue to do that now that Britt is out.

        • Nick 8:32 pm on September 26, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Grab Houston if they’re available in your league. With Hasselbeck losing Britt, “Sunshine” Gabbert starting, the Colts carousel and the surprisingly slow offenses of ATL & TB they should fair well in the new 34 under Chubby Phillips.

          • Jog_JMC 2:04 pm on September 27, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Does Hasselbeck have more upside than Kolb?? What do you think about Titans D??

            • Brandon 2:24 pm on September 27, 2011 Permalink

Hmm, without Kenny Britt in Tennessee I put them on about the same level. Kolb may have more upside with Larry Fitzgerald, while Chris Johnson starts to cut into Hasselbeck’s production, but it’s really close.

            • Nick 5:09 pm on September 27, 2011 Permalink

They both have a week 6 bye. I like Hasselbeck given the strength of RB and strength of schedule. TEN will face Hou, Indy, Cincy, Carolina after the bye. Arizona may or may not have Beanie and they face the Giants, Philly, Baltimore, & Pittsburgh. Hasselbeck also has better TE options with Cook, Stevens & Graham (not the lawfirm).

      Bye bye, Britt!!

        Pick up Nate Washington?

      • DaveW 11:55 pm on September 26, 2011 Permalink | Reply

PANIC! i am in the same boat. Definitely going to miss him. Hard to replace but im sure there is some option for you. i am deep in the QB slot (i have Brees, followed by Fitzpatrick) so will aim at trading fitz for a good WR.

    Peyton Hillis out today

Kind of a surprise since he doesn’t have an injury, just an illness (strep).

    • Nicole 11:23 am on September 25, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I just grabbed Montario Hardesty…should I play him in place of Peyton? My other options are: WR – Wel Welker, Mike Wallace (a definite start), Dwayne Bowe, Eric Decker. RB – Mike Turner (a def start), Hightower, Jacobs, Hardesty, Helu).

      • Nicole 11:43 am on September 25, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I obviously listed the WR’s b/c there is a flex position and we have a PPR league.

        • Natalie 12:45 pm on September 25, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Nicole- Peyton Hillis is OUT for todays game. If you have Hightower you need to start him and Michael Turner at RB. You definitely want to start Mike Wallace and Wes Welker at WR. The others listed are risky but Helu had a big week last week. Is Ben Tate RB available in your league to pick up in place of Arian Foster who is out this week? If so pick him up and play him in flex spot.

The Don- As Brandon would say, “I have Freeman listed above Rex for player rankings, go with Freeman!”

        • Brandon 10:05 am on September 26, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Nice impression Natalie! Unfortunately, I may have missed the mark on this one unless Grossman has a rough go of it tonight. Thankfully Freeman got that rushing touchdown.

LOL Brandon. It was definitely a week of fantasy surprises!

hey im struggling with playing tolbert (SD) today or not. obviously the chiefs are very weak, but tolbert hasnt worked out much this week and matthews is stepping it up. Maybe i am wrong (likely!) but i just dont think he is a solid choice today. any last minute rebuttal to this?

      • Natalie 12:46 pm on September 25, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I’m playing him Dave, you almost can’t afford ot place him on the bench. Just my opinion though.

Loving Beanie Wells’ prospects today. The hammy is a false alarm. He’s a top-10 RB this week against the Seahawks, especially given that Seattle struggles to put up points and Arizona will likely find itself with a lead early and count on Beanie to grind out the clock. Lots of touches against a basement-level defense – what more could you want from a fantasy RB?

      Matt-

I have NOLA defense benched and ATL DEF starting. I’m a little tentative about starting either DEF this week. Tennesse, Washington, and Carolina available in my league. I am thinking about picking up Tennessee this week. Do you think I should do this and if so which DEF would you drop?

      • Matt 11:11 am on September 25, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I definitely wouldn’t start NO this week (NO means no, har!). I think the Titans are your best bet for a good defensive showing this week against the Broncos.

    • Brandon 10:03 am on September 26, 2011 Permalink | Reply

      Soooo…about Beanie Wells 🙂

      • Matt 1:16 pm on September 26, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Really strange, every report was “confident” that he’d play. Seemed like there was no question about it.
