User Requested Player Rankings – Week 13
As with last year, instead of automatically ranking every player at every position (like the big sites with the big bucks do :-)), I’ll be ranking all requested players against other requested players. For example, if you have four wide receivers and you’re trying to fill three spots, you just comment with the four names and I’ll rank them against each other. In essence, this will accomplish the same thing as if you were to scan a complete list of wide receivers for where your four guys rank.
Here’s a link to the Google Doc spreadsheet for those viewing on mobile devices. Anyways, feel free to start submitting names for me to rank! I’ll start the list off with a few guys that were on the list last week.
Just a disclaimer…I’m more likely to put your players on the list faster if you just give me a couple names to compare. When you comment with your entire team, it makes me less likely to get the players listed until the very last minute. (View the rankings after the jump)… (More …)

Frank Gore, Marshawn Lynch, Demarco Murray, and Chris Johnson, which 3 do I start?
Brandon 11:04 am on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
Got them ranked. I’d bench Marshawn Lynch this week, even though his matchup is decent. the other guys just have too much upside. Good luck!
Shane 6:05 pm on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
How can you bench lynch? he has touchdowns in his last 5 games!
Brandon 11:53 am on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
Looks like Lynch didn’t agree with my rankings either. The other guys have solid match-ups, so not like any of them were poor plays. Who knows, maybe they all have great days! 🙂
Danny 11:06 am on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
Disagree with you. I played Lynch over Hillis and Chris Johnson. Looks like it’ll work in my favor. Can you add Hillis and Gerhart to the rankings though?
Brandon 2:22 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
Just added them. Tough to bench Chris Johnson after he finally breaks out in a big game, but Lynch is playing well lately so not a crazy move either way.
Nero 3:17 pm on December 3, 2011 Permalink
Yep, I started Lynch as well … dude is in serious BEAST mode, even after all the OL he has lost in the past 2 weeks. Another OL just went down in the Philly game … give that man his skittles!!!
Nick 11:23 am on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
Jordy Nelson, Wes Welker, Laurent Robinson, and Stevie Johnson.
Brandon 11:28 am on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
Got them ranked now. Robinson is interesting, because apparently Miles Austin could play this weekend. The Cowboys have a great matchup this week though and I still like Robinson, who has proven to be a big red zone target.
Chris 11:27 am on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
Can you add Lance Moore, Vincent Brown, and Riley Cooper as well as these three defenses: Houston, Pitt, and NYJ. Appreciate all your help!
Brandon 11:36 am on November 30, 2011 Permalink |

Got them ranked.

WRs – Laurent Robinson, a resurgent Mike Williams (TB), Damian Williams, Jabar Gaffney, Eric Decker, Nate Burleson.
Brandon 2:35 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
Good to go. Good luck!

Dez Bryant or Victor Cruz?
Reggie Bush or Benjarvus Green-Ellis?
Brandon 2:37 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
Got those guys listed. At this point, it’s almost impossible to bench Victor Cruz and at running back, it’s nearly a toss up. I’m leaning towards Reggie Bush who has surprisingly become a safer option. However, Green-Ellis has a great match-up and could either get 0 touchdowns or 3 depending on what Belichick feels like. Good luck!
Aaron 1:50 pm on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
OP Flex Position: Rashard Mendenhall or Vince Young?
Brandon 2:37 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
Does the position generally favor QB’s over running backs or is it pretty equal? I’m thinking Vince Young has a much better chance to score.
Aaron 2:52 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
It’s ESPN standard scoring with incremental bonuses:
QB: 300-399 yds passing +1, >400 yds +2
RB: 100-199 YDS +2, >200 yds +3
V. Young is appealing because he rushes, but Seattle’s D can be tough. And Mendenhall doesn’t seem to be used much later (rarely >20 caries), but he’s their goal-line guy. And he’s up against Cincy’s D which is also tough. What do you think?
S. 2:56 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
Go with whatever Brandon says over me, but feel free to take this as a second opinion: With how strong Seattle’s rush D is, combined with the issue of McCoy’s toe, I think that V. Young will continue to air out the pass plays as he has in his starts thus far. I would personally go with Young.
Also, Cincy is starting to weaken in the secondary due to injuries, but are still relatively strong against the run. I would anticipate a lot of passing from Ben to his corps of receivers, but who knows. Good luck!
Aaron 3:39 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it.
Brandon 2:23 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
Hmm, might not have been the best move. How did VY end up scoring for you?
Aaron 3:05 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink
He scored 11 points. A poor performance for sure, but most analysts agreed he was a must-start so it seemed like a good decision.
Dalton 1:55 pm on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
Hey there, im kinda stumped here. okay who is my running backs for the week who should i start. i have mccoy, turner ryan mathews, helu and michael bush. who do i start? and recievers i have greg jennings, steve smith (panthers) and jordy nelson who do i start?
Dalton 1:55 pm on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
oh and who should i use as my flex out of all them guys sorry i didnt add that in there
Mike 5:07 pm on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
Damn those are all solid plays. I would think that Helu and Bush are the least favorites, not that they couldnt go big, but they are higher risk. My vote would be mccoy, mathews, jennings, smith and nelson……but i could easily throw turner in, but he is going against a good D.
But make sure you check the player rankings above, thats why he makes them. lol
Dalton 10:08 pm on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
thanks for the info. and you sure michael bush wouldnt have a game against miami? i mean they have a good run D this year but its miami. i mean its so hard to choose from nelson bush, helu. so hard to choose from
S. 10:34 am on December 2, 2011 Permalink
Miami has stepped it up the last few weeks. Prior to playing Dallas, they didn’t allow their opponent a single touchdown for three games in a row, and one of those games was against Buffalo, which means they held FJax out of the end zone. Also, last week, they kept DeMarco Murray somewhat contained too – he didn’t score any TDs. I’m not saying that Miami has an amazing D or anything, but I wouldn’t write them off either.
Brandon 2:44 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
Just added all of those guys to the ranks. It’s tough with those running backs, since I’d use all three receivers (Nelson in the flex.) I have McCoy and Michael Bush ranked the highest (although Bush is just ahead of Turner.) Good luck however you roll!
Dalton 6:33 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
would you start helu over michael bush this week? since their playing a week jets team and throw ryan matthews in there too
Jpeck 2:12 pm on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
Stevie Johnson or Jordy Nelson. Stevie is a prime target but he will have Finnegan on him, and Nelson had very little on field playing time against Detroit last week.
Brandon 2:45 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
I have Nelson ranked quite a few spots ahead of Stevie this week. The Packers will throw the ball a lot this weekend and I love both of their top receivers.
J 4:06 pm on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
Do you think Johnny Knox is worth playing? I have to choose between him, M Colston, D. Bowe, Brandon Lloyd and Laurent Robinson. My initial gut says Colston, Lloyd and Robinson…?? as for TE- F Davis or J. Gresham?
Brandon 2:34 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
I have all of those guys ranked now. I wouldn’t play Knox over any of your main guys. Laurent Robinson is probably the best play of the bunch as it seems Miles Austin will be out again.
Schrodinger's Cat 4:11 pm on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
Hakeem Nicks, Aaron Rodgers, Ahmad Bradshaw, Santana Moss, Ryan Mathews, C.J. Spiller, Aaron Hernandez, Fred Davis.
M. Lynch, M. Bush, R. Mathews, A. Bradshaw……. If you could pick (2) ?
Brandon 2:46 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
Just ranked those guys. Hopefully you started Lynch over Bradshaw!
aaron 4:31 pm on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
need 1 wr, 1rb, 1 flex from these in 0.5 ppr (20yrds rev vs 10 yrds rush / 1pt): b llyod, ajgreen, beanie, cj spiller, toby gerhart. will DMC ever play again? when he does, is he even a rb1?? best wk 13 dst, cincy, seatle, oak, tenn, sd, atl? thanks!
Brandon 2:52 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
I think I have all of those guys ranked, so I’d probably go Lloyd, Beanie and Gerhart (although it’s close with Spiller, Gerhart and Green). As for McFadden, he should play next week, but hopefully you’re not counting on him too much since I’m sure the goal of the team is to get him healthy for the NFL playoffs, not the fantasy football playoffs. At defense, I’d probably go with Atlanta and hope they can slow down the Texans running game a bit and feast on the quarterbacking!
james hance 5:41 pm on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
can you rank andre, AJ green, marshal austin, robinson and A. brown
Brandon 2:54 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
Got them ranked. Not sure Miles Austin even plays this week, so go Laurent Robinson over him no matter the case.
Jeron 5:56 pm on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
Michael Turner, Reggie Bush, and Ahmad Bradshaw please
Brandon 2:46 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
Got them ranked. Bradshaw should probably stay on the bench this week until you know what you’re dealing with (if he even plays!)

Who should I start at rb, pick two: Reggie Bush, Willis Mcgahee, Ryan Mathews
Who should I start at WR, pick two: Vincent Jackson, Desean Jackson, Percy Harvin, Antonio Brown
Thanks!
james hance 9:46 pm on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
mcgahee and r. bush, harvin 9if rushing yards count 4 WRs) and brown
Brandon 3:03 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
Ranked them. Got Bush and Mathews (just one spot ahead of McGahee though) and Percy and Antonio. Did you play DeSean Jackson? I had him ranked higher yesterday but he disappointed as usual.

Who to start at QB: Tebow or M. Ryan and TE: Pettigrew, Gresham or Celek and D: Detroit or Oakland?
steeve 11:47 am on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
I have both Tebow and Ryan as well and that’s precisely what I came her to check on..haha
Brandon 3:11 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
Hah, glad I could kill two birds with one stone! It’s tough though, but I’m leaning towards Tebow this week, who I think has a decent match-up while Ryan has a rough one. Good luck guys!
Reid 11:18 pm on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
You think I should start stevey johnson or b loyd?
Brandon 3:11 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |

Who should I start in RB/WR this week, two of each and a flex. I’m in a MUST win situation to make the playoffs.
RB’s: Helu, Beanie Wells, Peyton Hillis, Kevin Smith, Maurice Morris
WR’s: Jordy Nelson, Larry Fitzgerald, Marques Colston, Laurent Robinson & Vincent Brown
HELP!
Brandon 3:12 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
Helu and Wells, Robinson and Nelson, Fitz. Good luck!

Dalton, Moore or Palmer / Palmer, Jackson, Orton, or Bradford? thanks.
Neil 12:10 am on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
Can you also rank Beanie, MJD, Sproles for running backs and Decker, Manningham, Knox, Brown and Nicks for receivers? Thanks, Brandon.
Brandon 3:24 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
I think they’re all ranked now. Not sure who Jackson was you mentioned first unless it was Tarvaris Jackson. If so, I was a bit late on that one. Keep an eye on Manningham though, as he’s banged up and will be questionable for the game. Good luck!
Daniel 6:31 am on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
Can you please add Peyton Hillis and Toby Gerhart?
Brandon 3:16 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
Got them on the ranks

Dalton vs Moore. I’m playing my wife this week so I need to pull out this win badly, to make the playoffs, end a chargers like skid and not lose my man card
Brandon 3:25 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
Hah, got them ranked. I’m actually starting Moore in a league this week and Dalton has a tough match-up. Moore is probably a bit riskier, but I’d say his upside is higher this week. Good luck and report back on who holds the man card when the dust settles 🙂
Jason 10:24 am on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
I’m running Blount. Which Bush should I run in Miami? Reggie or MIchael?
Brandon 3:27 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
I have Michael Bush a few spots ahead of Reggie, since McFadden will be out again. It’s a tough match-up, but he won’t have to split carries like Reggie dues.
Ryan 10:27 am on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
Can you add: Nate Burleson, Benjarvis Green-Ellis, and Ryan Matthews. Thanks
Brandon 3:14 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
I believe all of those guys are listed at this point.
Ryan 10:34 am on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
Its our first week of playoffs in a PPR league. I have the most points in our league but have lost 3 games by a combined 6 points, so I’m playing the #2 team in the league.
I’m starting Brees, Foster, Jennings, Jimmy Graham, and the 49ers D for sure.
I have 1 more slot for a RB, 1 more slot for a WR, and 1 RB/WR flex spot to fill, with Green-Ellis, Matthews, Kevin Smith (Questionable), Laurent Robinson, Nate Burleson, Miles Austin(Questionable), and Mario Manningham (Questionable).
I’m thinking Matthews and Robinson as of now, then a toss up between Green-Ellis and Burleson.
Any Ideas would be helpful, thanks!
S. 2:59 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
Wow, great team. I’d go with what you have (Matthews/Robinson) and then Green-Ellis over Burleson.
Brandon 3:31 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
I like Robinson with Miles Austin likely out again and actually prefer Green-Ellis with a great match-up over Mathews who has a tough game. Good luck dude!

Most of them were already on there, so it made it easy 🙂 Got them all ranked now
crazy 3:12 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
So I made the playoffs and am in 3rd. #2 is playing #1 this week and I need #2 to lose for me to jump into 2nd. It is very doubtful that this will happen since #1 player’s team has weakened quite a bit with the loss of Fred Jackson. So since I am probably 90% not going to make 2nd for the bye in playoff, I am going to throw this game so that I play a weaker opponent in the playoffs and am basically guaranteed 2nd in the league, but could grab 1st if all goes well in week 16.
Am I going to FF hell for this?
S. 3:36 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
yes
crazy 3:43 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
It’s not good strategery ?
S. 4:49 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
It’s not a bad strategy by any means. I was partially just being a smarta$$ in response to the “am I going to FF hell for this” part – but I just think it’s in good nature to do your best to win week-in/week-out regardless of the odds/projections/matchups/etc. HOWEVER… different religions believe that you go to “hell” for various reasons, so who’s to say which one(s) are right or wrong? 😉
crazy 5:43 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
HA yeah I debated for a while whether it was bad karma. But the funny thing is that even with me worst players I don’t think I will lose.
So I can play my top guys and beat her by 60 points or play my worst and prob still beat her by 10.
Brandon 3:40 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
Seems a bit crazy to me, as you’ll have to beat the top team to win the league eventually anyways. There’s a lot of luck in fantasy football and truly anything can happen each week if the two teams are competitive. Up to you though, since you already made the playoffs. It’s your team, so I really see no issue with managing it how you like. Good NFL teams bench their good players once they clinch the playoffs, so why not you 🙂

Hi, who you think might be the best this weekend for my last spot (Fitz+RoddyW are my other 2WRs), in a WR/TEcombined, PPR league? Gates or Mike Williams (Bucs)
What I see:
– Gates (@Jacksonville) is normally constant for 5 catch and 1TD, in an offense that need to get him more involve if they want to win. However, Jaguars are not bad defensively and it could be a low scoring game…
– M.Williams (vs Carolina) was more used in the last weeks, but he will probably face a lot of Chris Gamble (right?) and the Bucs would probably run a lot on the Panthers because they are not good in that area…
Brandon 3:43 pm on December 2, 2011 Permalink |
It’s close, but I’d go with Gates with Freeman all banged up and Williams having a tough match-up.
