The Wire: Playoffs around the corner!
This season I’ve continued to tweak the format of the waiver wire list, so pay attention! I’ve organized it by position now, since that probably makes more sense when you’re trying to fill a particular position. In terms of the color coding: green are guys to target, yellow are guys that are less-than-spectacular, but you can plug-in if necessary, and red are one-hit-wonders you can ignore.
Here is the waiver wire advice for this week in Google Doc spreadsheet format if that’s the way you prefer to digest it.
Remember, Pickemfirst is a great browser plug-in to use with our waiver wire lists!

What do you think about dropping Dallas Clark for Jermaine Gresham?
Brandon 3:56 pm on November 29, 2011 Permalink |
I’d do it in a heartbeat.

Absolutely!!

What do you think of dropping Dustin Kellar or Jake Ballard for Jermaine Gresham? I am already guaranteed a bye in the first round of the playoffs (Week 14), need a good TE for weeks 15 & 16.
Brandon 4:03 pm on November 29, 2011 Permalink |
It’s tough. According to their schedules, Ballard has the easiest week 15 and 16, but he’s my least favorite option. I’d hang onto Keller and pick up Gresham over Ballard.

I am in a league that doesn’t allow TE as flex. I have Graham and Gronkowski. I am first place in my league but just lost Fred Jackson for the year. Wondering if I should trade Gronkowski or Graham. Someone said they will accept Gronk and Dez Bryant for Cedric Benson or I could trade Graham straight up for either DeMarco Murray or Frank Gore. What should I do?
B 3:48 pm on November 29, 2011 Permalink |
That seems like a no-brainer Jarad– definitely trade Graham for Murray or Gore.
Jarad 3:57 pm on November 29, 2011 Permalink |
Which one would you take? Gore seems to have the tougher schedule playing Arizona, PITT, SEATTLE in playoffs and Murray plays NYG, TB, Philly. Think Gore has bigger ceiling but the 49ers are up huge in their division and may rest Gore and he always gets injured. What do you think?
Brandon 4:06 pm on November 29, 2011 Permalink |
I’d trade Graham for Murray immediately! You’d have Gronk (potentially the best TE in the league right now) in the TE spot and Murray to replace Fred Jackson…so you really don’t lose anything.

Should I dump Kevin Smith for Peyton Hillis
Brandon 10:40 am on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
I don’t think I would. Look at Hillis’ schedule for the rest of the year…pretty scary stuff with two games against both the Ravens and Steelers. Smith should be back in a week or so. Not really high on either of them though to be honest.

Brandon- Phillip Rivers is killing me? If I don’t do something about it this week I may be out! Of course I face a guy with Aaron Rogers this week. I have Carson Palmer on my bench, but Vince Young and Alex Smith are available and projected to get more points. Do I pick up any of those guys or stick with Rivers?
Brandon 10:47 am on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
That’s a tough one. None of them have especially great match-ups. I like Palmer the most of the crew I guess, with the hope that one or both of Denarius Moore and Jacoby Ford can play. That being said, I still think Philip Rivers has the highest upside of the group, just based on his receivers, but you might be fed up enough with him to keep him on the bench this week. Good luck either way!
Natalie 4:34 pm on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
My other dilemma involveds my RB’s. I have McFadden and Bradshaw. Both have injuries and not sure if the will play. Is it worth it to drop one of them and go for Beanie Wells? It looks like he’ll play. Ugh injuries! Lost Fred Jackson too!
Mike 12:24 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink |
I would drop bradshaw, even if he does play the Giants have been awful on run blocking, + hes still hurt, and the Packers are going to run the score up quick so NY will have to pass. Thats my thoughts.
Mike 12:25 pm on December 1, 2011 Permalink
Just to elaborate , Bradshaw is a good RB, but the stars just dont appear to be aligned this week, but try not to lose him permanently

Think you can post a video on how the PickemFirst plug-in works? I don’t like downloading anything until I know for sure I want it.
Brandon 11:35 am on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
Not sure about a video, but here’s a post I wrote that shows a screen shot of the plug-in in action. There is the downside that while the plug-in is enabled, it runs every time you load up a website, which can get annoying sometimes. http://ffgeekblog.com/2011/09/any-of-our-readers-using-pickemfirst-i/

I have eight teams (eight leagues). How will the plug-in determine which teams it will use?
Brandon 11:45 am on November 30, 2011 Permalink |
I believe the free version allows for two teams. When you click the little symbol next to a player, a little dialog pops up listing all the teams and the status of that player in the league. You configure what teams to use in their options screen on the site. There is a video on their website too: http://www.pickemfirst.com
P.S. I don’t work for them or anything, so it’s not a big deal to me if you use them or not
