Looks like Cedric Benson will serve his one game suspension in week 8, when the Bengals play the Seahawks, so check your line-ups for that week and see if you want to pick up Bernard Scott. Just keep in mind that the Seattle run defense is one of the best in the league, so don’t expect huge things from Scott 🙂

I am in need of a RB very badly. I had Charles, Blount, Jones who are all hurt. Should i trade Jimmy Graham for Chris Johnson ? I have Jason Witten anyway as my TE

      • Brandon 4:53 pm on October 20, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I’d do that. Works out perfect that you’re able to convert Graham to Johnson with Witten to hold it down for you. Go for it!

I am in a weird position and need some help on a bye week:

          WR: Santana Moss, Greg Little
          RB: Ryan Torain, DeMarco Murray
          TE: Fred Davis
          Flex: Percy Harvin

          Bench players available:
Antonio Brown, Derrick Mason, Peyton Hillis (pending hamstring issues)

My issue is that I have three players on the ‘Skins playing, and I’m worried about oversaturating my team. However, if Hillis doesn’t play, and I don’t have another TE available, then my only option would be to bench Santana Moss for Antonio Brown or Derrick Mason. What do you guys think I should do? I hate bye weeks…

I don’t usually pay attention to starting multiple players on a single team as long as they’re in different positions (or if they’re Miles Austin/Dez Bryant or something…then I’d start them both anyways.) Anyways, stick with Fred Davis and Santana Moss, who I have ranked ahead of Antonio Brown this week.

I would definitely do this! If you need a RB, and already have a backup to who you would be trading, what do you have to lose? Despite CJ’s lack of stardom this year, he is still a stud.

I got Battle and Jackson ranked highest at RB and am hoping (as I gave out tons of advice!) that Battle breaks out this week. As for wide receiver, that is a sorry crew you got there 🙂 I guess you go with Bess, but I can’t promise anything. Are none of the guys ranked ahead of him on Yahoo’s rankings available?!

I need some WR help guys. My league gives 1 point per 10 yards of return. The toss up is between Greg Little, Nate Washington, and Jacoby Ford. Ford did great last week but that was because of the 101 yd return.

      • Brandon 9:36 am on October 21, 2011 Permalink | Reply

You might gamble on Jacoby Ford if it turns out that Carson Palmer plays. Otherwise, go Nate Washington, since Ford won’t have much value in the passing game. Good luck!

yardage league who do you start.

      ONE of Each

      QB- Palmer, Tebow, Schaub
      RB- Jackie Battle or Hardesty
      WR- Malcom Floyd or Heyward-Bey

      • Corey 3:43 pm on October 21, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I would start Schaub just on the fact that we haven’t seen ANYTHING from Palmer or Tebow but…. I would start Palmer over Tebow if that’s the case.
        Battle facing easier defense.
Bey. Floyd will be facing Cromartie

Thoughts on Lance Kendricks going forward? (Big fan of your site guys, kee up the great work!)

He drops too many balls. See if Fred Davis is available on waivers. He should do just fine the rest of the year.

        Just my 2 cents
        🙂

It looks like Cedric Benson will play this week and his suspension could be pushed off (and possibly shortened) to next week. This means that everyone who took my advice and picked up Bernard Scott will most likely want to KEEP HIM ON THE BENCH this week!

    • Kate 1:16 pm on September 29, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I have Ryan Grant (who has a bruised kidney?!), Mike Tolbert and Mark Ingram, as well as Bernard Scott who is staying on my bench. Out of the three, which two should I play?

(Yes, my team is ridiculous. We’re in a 16 person league and Jamaal Charles was my #1 pick so I had to scramble.)

    Pick up Bernard Scott

Bengals running back Cedric Benson will begin serving a three game suspension following this week and Bernard Scott will start in his place. Could be perfect timing for a lot of people who are shallow at the position and who have a running back on a bye in those three weeks. Just scooped him up in all of my leagues…you should do the same…QUICK!

I have Cedric Benson, Felix Jones, MJD, Joseph Addai, and Roy Helu at RB. Do you think I should drop any of these guys to pick up Bernard Scott? Or, rotate them during Cedric’s possible suspension?

      • Brandon 11:04 am on September 23, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I’d think about dropping Roy Helu for Scott. Bernard Scott could very well be your best running back in weeks 4-6, with the Bengals playing Buffalo, Jacksonville and Indianapolis, the 2nd, 28th and 5th worst run defenses in the league. As long as Tim Hightower is healthy, Helu won’t be very consistent and you won’t want to start him, so maybe he’s even available in week 7 when Benson comes back.

I have MJD, Foster, Sproles, Starks and Tate. Do you think I should drop any of these guys and pick up Bernard Scott?

      • Brandon 11:23 am on September 23, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Nah, keep those guys. Scott only has value in weeks 4-6. Those guys will help your team all year.

Would you start him over Daniel Thomas?

      • Brandon 11:33 am on September 23, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Not this week, as Cedric Benson is still playing. But in weeks 4 and 6 (and probably 5 too) I would most definitely!

        • Brian 4:29 pm on September 23, 2011 Permalink | Reply

think dan thomas is the next thing, time will tell. but scott is a interesting play these weeks especially given the matchups

Would you drop any of these guys for Scott?

League 1: Caddy, Addai, Jonathan Stewart (I’m thinking Caddy)
League 2: Mike Thomas (WR), Dexter McCluster (I’m thinking Thomas)

      • Brandon 8:07 pm on September 24, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I dropped Cadillac in one league for Scott and if you have the WR depth in the other league, you could probably drop Thomas. This all depends on you needing Bernard Scott in the first place. If you won’t start him in weeks 4-6, then you probably don’t need to worry about it.

    • andy 2:03 pm on September 24, 2011 Permalink | Reply

would you start him over starks or hightower?

      • Brandon 8:06 pm on September 24, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Don’t start him this week, as Cedric Benson is playing. When he’s suspended in weeks 4-6 though, you might seriously consider Scott in weeks 4 and 6 against some bad run defenses. Check back then though!

NFL leaders through week 1 (of the preseason)

Here are your offensive yardage leaders through the first week of the preseason. Keep in mind that the Bengals and Cowboys have already played two games. Also note, you should not draft any of these players, except Aaron Rodgers, Julian Edelman and possibly Bernard Scott.

Cedric Benson is inactive, so get Bernard Scott in your line-up!

Justin Forsett makes a great start for the Seahawks with Julius Jones sitting out today as well.

Looks like Larry Johnson is poised to become the second second-rate RB to come alive in Cinci.

I can’t believe Houston blew that lead!

My rapidraft team had a great start to the week with the Packers defense (thank you mid-season defense hoarding!) . Then Schaub and Clark kept me on the board with big performances at their positions. Normally I’d be in great shape but with Benson out (my flex), I made the decision to play Shiancoe which looks to hurt me. Of course it’s not like I had a choice as my two replacements were Cadillac, Buckhalter, LJ, Coles, or Henderson. I’m crossing my fingers for s Shiancoe TD catch today. Looks like the week will come down to how well Chris Johnson finishes the day as he is the only ace up my sleeve. He needs to outscore what Forsett did earlier today for me to really gain any ground.

Sorry I wasn’t around to answer many questions this week but with Thanksgiving I didn’t have much access to a computer. I’ll be sure to get back on the horse next week!

Forsett ended up with a big day, but Johnson topped him!

        • Brandon 12:12 pm on November 30, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Actually, maybe he didn’t. Depends on your league scoring. I’ll hope for the best though!
