Yahoo no longer considers Danny Woodhead a wide receiver. Last year he had both RB and WR eligibility. Just sayin’.

ESPN is the same way. He was a nice super-flex last year.

Joe Theisman loves the movie Mr. Woodcock

Mr. Danny WoodcockI’m sure for many of our readers, I’m just rehashing the random sports news they’re already reading on more legit sports blogs. However, there’s the chance that some of you get your breaking news from FFGeekBlog.com…

Anyways, in case you haven’t heard about Joe Theisman’s slip of the tongue regarding the name of one of the Patriots running backs, here are the two videos you should watch (after the jump.)

I would just like to mention that part of this movie was filmed in a boys home called Rancho San Antonio in Chattsworth California. I would also like to mention that this “boys home” is a disastrous place where children like me are forgotten about. Though I managed to make it out alive a few years prior to the release of the movie, I will recognize that swimming pool anywhere. Thank you hollywood for reminding me of those horrible days, and thanks to Rancho San Antonio administrative staff for blissfully fulfilling your psychology internships whilst watching the movies.

Danny Woodhead sells Danny Woodhead jerseys

Pretty funny video here of New England Patriots running back Danny Woodhead selling his own jersey’s to unsuspecting customers…

    (Discovered via Deadspin. Thanks!)

But did he sell one to Tim Tebow? You know that Chuck Norris wears Tim Tebow pajamas, right?

      • Brandon 10:45 am on December 20, 2010 Permalink | Reply

But Tim Tebow wears Danny Woodhead pajamas, so who’s the baddest man now?

I am because Danny Woodhead wears Hawgman pj’s… (Someone really needs to make a sarcasm font…)

Made it to the championship game!! I will be using Welker and Woodhead next weekend!

Nice. I beat Matt in the FFGeekBlog.com Bowl and now get to play my old college roommate in the championship, so good luck to both of us!

I’m getting a little nervous though. Right now I have Witten & Felix vs the Cards, and Welker & Woodhead vs the Bills in the line-up. That’s 40% of my starting roster tied up in two games but the match-ups look rather tasty.
I’ll be hitting you up for some advice later in the week. Will you be posting on Friday?

I’ll be on vacation in Texas visiting the in-laws, but I’m sure I’ll find some time to post if people are in need of my services 🙂

The Wire – Week 5 pick-ups: Another crop of back-up running backs

Here are your potential waiver wire pick-ups for week 5. If you’re a Tom Brady owner, I seriously recommend that you consider Sam Bradford as your quarterback this week, as he has a great match-up with the Lions. Other players of intrigue this week include Ryan Torain, Mike Tolbert, Davone Bess, and Brandon Pettigrew, so take a look and see if any of these guys can help your squad overcome some injuries and bye weeks…

Brandon, I’m absolutely devastated with my second WR (14-team league) – anyways, I currently have Steve Johnson starting, but I’m doubting that. I got Murphy on the bench (not sure if he’ll play against SD) …. so on the waiver wire, we’ve got Naanee (umm I dropped him, so no way), Mike Thomas, or Danny Amendola …

I think Thomas and Amendola have great matchups, but should I drop Steve Johnson for one of them, and which one?

      • Brandon 4:35 pm on October 5, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Hmm, not sure those guys are all that much of upgrades over Johnson. They’re all guys who will catch 3-6 passes, but Johnson apparently knows how to find the endzone. Don’t bother with Naanee though…that guys a fluke until he has another big game!

      Time to add Lynch! 🙂

      • Nero 3:51 pm on October 5, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Yup … someone dropped him in my league the other night and I immediately picked him up. It’s a league where there is no waiver wire, so that was a good move. I also got Spiller on my bench, so maybe he will see some upside as well …

By the way, as per my previous question above, Mike Thomas just got picked up by someone, but the person who picked him up dropped MSW … both Jags receivers (funny) … so who should I pick up now?

        • Brandon 4:36 pm on October 5, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Not sure I’d bother with Sims-Walker either. Stick with Steve Johnson for now…even if he is a Buffalo Bill.

Cool, that is what I was thinking. Oh, but one more thing – I just noticed that Laurent Robinson might be ready to return for the Rams; should I pick him up?

      • Brandon 4:31 pm on October 5, 2010 Permalink | Reply

He’s already there! Time to update his Notes though. However, I’m not sure I’m diggin’ his new digs. The Seahawks offense is pathetic for the most part.

If you had the opportunity to drop either Dwayne Bowe or Kevin Walter for Brandon Tate, would you do it? Which one would you drop (and why)?

      • Brandon 3:29 pm on October 6, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Was just looking at Dwayne Bowe’s stats and was surprised at how terrible he was doing this year. I’d almost say to drop Bowe for Tate, but given that Bowe is the first option in an offense that doesn’t have many other options in the passing game, you might hang on to him for another week or so and see if he gets more involved.
