If you have a roster spot you can free up easily and Devery Henderson hasn’t been scooped up in your league yet, you might try to pick him up as soon as you can. Reports on Marques Colston’s shoulder injury aren’t promising at this point, but stay tuned for more information.

Steve smith (eagles) or devery henderson?

I have to go with Henderson…maybe even if Colston is healthy. Comparing Brees’ 3rd or 4th favorite target in passing game to Vick’s. I’ll go with Brees on that one 🙂

            Mike Thomas

My current receivers are C Johnson, Santonio Holmes, Manningham, MSW, & Jacoby Ford. We start 2, non-PPR. Somehow Colston was the only NO WR drafted in my league, so Hendersen, Moore & Meacham are all available FA’s. Lots of other decent WRs also available – Amendola, Evans, also E Sanders, B Gibson.

Wondering who if any you think might be worth dropping for any of those FA’s – some are likely to get snatched up shortly, especially by the Colston and Colts WRs owners. I shied away from the NO WRs because of all the shared wealth there, but with Colston out that should help the others.

Just can’t make my mind up about MSW, (most seem to think Amendola will rack it up a la Wes Welker…..good steady points every week), the news/rumours on him out of STl are mixed. Any thoughts?

hey brandon, won the league last year with your help
but, I dont think any help is going to get me even past playoffs in this 14man league i’m in now.
      this is who i have:
      Stafford,
      Andre Johnson,
      Steve Smith (CAR)
      AJ Green
      Steven Jackson,
      M lynch,
      zach miller (SEA)
      Ryan fitzpatrick,
      Steven Rirdley?
      Cecil Shorts?
      Derek Hagan?
      Alex Henery?
      Nick Folk?
New orleans DST which scored me a whopping 4 pts,
      Tampa Bay DEF

Do i use a waiver pick (i’m #13 in line) to get devery henderson, and then drop one of the sorry WRs [i had to go so autodrafted after round 7 or 8. for Anthony Fasano as a back up TE? Some other no name TE’s that are available are Julius thomas, virgil green, luke stocker, and many other 0% owned guys.

Any help and foretelling of the future is appreciated!

The Wire – Week 15: Slim Pickings

Here are our waiver wire candidates for week 15. As usual, you’ll find players who are either [Startable], a [Stopgap] to get you past a BYE or injury, [Worth a look] and spot on your bench, or [One-week-wonder]s who don’t warrant a roster spot, so you make your roster moves accordingly. You’ll also see the percent owned in parenthesis. We’re coming down to crunch-time now, with the playoffs starting/continuing in nearly every league out there at this point, so hopefully you don’t have to rely too much on the players listed here. As usual, good luck to everyone as you try to get one step closer to that league championship!

Made it to playoffs, need some help though, I’m playing Kevin Faulk instead of McCoy as flex, using R.Bush and Maroney at RB. Thought about Meachem in the flex, buy NE plays Buffalo. Got J.Stewart on the bench this week, might have to put Meachem in for Fitzgereld if he is hurt. I have Alex Smith for next week verse the Lions, cause I know Manning won’t really play that last game, if I make it to the next round. What do you guys think?

      • Brandon 10:31 am on December 16, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I’m not sure you can justify starting Kevin Faulk over Robert Meachem in the flex spot. If Larry Fitzgerald doesn’t play, I’d put Meachem in the WR slot, then as long as Brian Westbrook doesn’t play, put LeSean McCoy in the flex spot. Kevin Faulk does have a touchdown in the past two games, but that isn’t his strong suit and when the Bills and Patriots played in week one, Faulk had under 60 combine yards.

I’m thinking of starting Meachem over Ochocinco in the playoffs. I have to play 3 WR and my other two are Vincent Jackson and Miles Austin. I also have Steve Breaston on my bench and without LF he could have a nice game. Any suggestions? Ochocinco has underperformed for me so is Meachem a better choice?

        • Brandon 8:26 am on December 17, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Yeah I’m fine with Meachem over Ochocinco. Meachem has a better match-up this week and should have a decent game against Dallas, who just got beat up by the Giants and Chargers receivers in recent weeks.

My QB situation is horrrible. I have David Garrard and Brady Quinn. Which one do I start? Slim picking on the wire. Also who is the better flex play: Addai or Sidney Rice?

      • Brandon 8:23 am on December 17, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Go with Sidney Rice over Addai, who could be benched at half-time if the Colts have a big lead. As for your unfortunate quarterback situation (I can’t believe I’m saying this,) go with Brady Quinn. He has a much better match-up and while the Browns offense has been putrid this season, Quinn has a few decent games as of late. Plus, you won’t have to sit there and agonize over a bad Garrard outing for three days if he puts up a stinker tonight. Good luck!

The waiver wire is unavailable for me in the playoffs and I’m forced to choose between starting Marion Barber and Pierre Thomas going head to head in the same game. Pierre has had better games recently, but Mike Bell is supposed to be back, and New Orleans’ run D is worse than Dallas’.

      • Brandon 8:24 am on December 17, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Neither has scored touchdowns in the running game lately, but the fact that Pierre Thomas is used in the passing game makes him more valuable here.

I’m playing the number one seed in the playoffs this week. This would be a huge win. I need 3WR 2RB and 2 flex.

      Players I have
WR: TO, Smith(NYG), Hakeem Nicks, Antonio Bryant, Dwayne Bowe, Roddy White, Crabtree, Sims-Walker, Chambers
      RB: Pierre Thomas, Ganther, Hightower

Cribbs is also available in my league. I’m most likely playing Ganther after his performance last week. Not to sure about Hightower since he’s been losing carries and having fumble issues of late but he is playing Detroit.

      • Brandon 11:44 am on December 20, 2009 Permalink | Reply

At receiver, I like T.O., Steve Smith and Michael Crabtree. Did you start Pierre Thomas last night? If so, go with Quinton Ganther alongside him. In the flex spots, go with Hakeem Nicks and take a gamble on Roddy White, even if he’s against Darrelle Revis.

WRs I am thinking of playing Colston, Meacham and Smith(Nyg)
      RBs R. WIlliams and Ganther
DEF Houston…could pick up Seattle if u think that is better
Need flex help or plug these in above…have Forte, L. Evans, Avery, Bess, FLoyd

On the FA list is Aromoshadu, Britt, Camarillo, Knox, A. Bryant

I also have Collie, but am benching him this week seeing that he may not play too much…hopefully I don’t regret that decision.

Here are our waiver wire candidates for week fourteen. As usual, you’ll find players who are either [Startable], a [Stopgap] to get you past a BYE or injury, [Worth a look] and spot on your bench, or [One-week-wonder]s who don’t warrant a roster spot, so you make your roster moves accordingly. Hard to sit McNabb against a Giants defense that just got lit up by Tony Romo. Plus, if you actually look at the last few games the Rams of played, they haven’t been all that bad against the pass (shut down Hasselbeck and Cutler.) Stick with McNabb.

Hey Guys – First off, thanks for helping me win my division, you guys are the best.

Wanted to know your thoughts on my playoff roster:
      – At RB I have SJax, Wells, Charles, F Jackson, & Forsett. Thinking about swapping someone for Harrison, as a posible week 15 option should something happen (like SJax’s back finally caving in). Maybe FredJack, or Forsett if it looks like they’ll be sticking to Jones….?
      – At WR, Welker, Austin, Ocho, SimsWalker, Smith(NYG). Meacham is available. Worth swapping one for him – will Ocho shine again?
      – D/ST – GB & CIN, who do you like going forward? (can also grab DEN, CAR, ARI)
      And for the rest:
      – TE – Witten & Shiancoe
      – K is always the flavor of the week, and Q is Brees.

Big question about whether I’m safer carrying 2 QBs in case Brees gets hurt (would grab Smith), but I’d have to drop something (probably the extra D/ST, hard to part with the others) Are there 2 D’s worth carrying, or do you think I can safely stick with one (probably GB this week, at least)

      Thanks!

      I’m thinking

You’re pretty stacked at WR.. They’re all #1’s on their respective teams. At this point, the only guy I would consider swapping is Steve Smith (NYG) for Meachem since he plays for an offensive juggernaut.

        • Brandon 3:45 pm on December 9, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Not sure Garcon is worth the add with the Colts about to clinch home field advantage through the playoffs and Peyton Manning seeing a drop in playing time.

      • Brandon 3:52 pm on December 9, 2009 Permalink | Reply

It might not be a huge upgrade, but feel free to drop Forsett for Harrison. At least you’re assured he’ll get some carries. At wide receiver, I agree with E-Roc on Steve Smith. He hasn’t found the endzone a whole lot lately and actually has some pretty bad match-ups down the stretch (PHI, WAS, CAR.) I like Witten at tight end and love the Packers defense this week against Jay “Interception Machine” Cutler.

Although there are some hip injury worries, Kurt Warner should be good to go on Monday and with the weapons he has at receiver, you have to start him over Alex Smith. This will all change if you find out that Warner is looking less likely to play later in the week, but for now plan on starting the old man.

2 RB 2 WR 1 Flex: MJD, McGahee, Addai, Rock Cartwright; Randy Moss, Steve Smith (NYG), Sid Rice, Britt and Maclin (will go if I get Meachem off waivers).

Although Miami is great against the run, MJD can still receive some passes, he should remain #1… I think the Colts will start resting starters, and Denver is quite tough for Addai. Cartwright will get a million touches and might score 0 TDs… and McGahee could score 3 in 3 carries! Oh boy…

For WRs I am only positive about Moss… Steve Smith *might* be ok against Brown and Samuel… it seems Young can throw the ball, so Britt has potential to wreck the Rams. I don’t like Rice against the Bengals and Maclin was dissapointing.

PD: Hoping to pick up Heap and Ravens to replace Olsen and Vikings… Baltimore’s schedule is pretty soft for the rest of the season.

      • Brandon 3:55 pm on December 9, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Go with Jones-Drew and Cartwright (and hope he gets lucky against a bad Oakland run defense.) At receiver go with Moss, Britt (worth a gamble) and either Meachem or Smith, depending on if you got Meachem.

3 WR 2 RB 2 Flex: Sims Walker, Roddy White, T.O., Smith(NYG), Smith(Car), Crabtree, Chambers, Mike Wallace, Pierre Thomas, Ganther (starting against OAK), and Hightower.

I was thinking Wallace might have a good game if Ward doesn’t play. KC doesn’t have a good pass defense so TO might have a break game.

I’m pretty sure with Thomas and Ganther but Hightower is a good goal line back.
      Please help me out.

Im having a tough time deciding who to start this week at WR and QB…

At QB I have Romo and Smith, and I was dead set on Romo until I read this article…

At WR, ( in a league where we can start 5) I have
      Sims-Walker (vs MIA)
      Desean Jackson (vs NYG)
      Andre Johnson (vs. Sea)
      Santonio Holmes (vs. CLE)
      Kenny Britt( vs.STL)
      Pierre Garcon( vs. DEN)

Britt has been lighting people up lately and so has Garcon. I’m afraid to bench Holmes because of Cleveland’s horrible defense. I need some major help her guys.

      Thanks!

      • Brandon 4:40 pm on December 10, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Hah, didn’t mean to make you second guess yourself, but you’re good to go with Romo anyways. He’s coming off two good performances in a row and plays a Chargers defense that just got beat up by the Browns of all teams.

At wide receiver, you might bench Kenny Britt, even if he has been playing well lately with Vince Young. If he doesn’t catch touchdowns in two of the last three games, he finishes with pretty bad numbers actually, so he’s a gamble.

Greetings!  I’m having a tough time week, finally moved into 4th in our standings, and working to protect that spot and make a team good enough to give some of our overpowered teams a run for their money come weeks 15-17 and I could use some assistance.  Here’s my lineup.

      QB:
      QB: Peyton Manning
      WR: Larry Fitzgerald
      WR: Marques Colston
      RB: Jamaal Charles
      RB: Cedric Benson
      TE: Heath Miller
      W/T: Mike Sims-Walker
      W/R: Jason Avant
      W/R: Kenny Britt

      On the bench:
      QB: Mark Sanchez
      RB: Mike Bell
      RB: Brandon Jacobs

Last week I finally benched Jacobs having moved in Britt into my lineup instead, figuring it was finally time, and it really came back to bite me.  I’ve got one empty spot on my roster and would be more than willing to make some moves should there be some options deemed better.  There are few availabilities at the QB position (Gradkowski, Boller, Moore being really the only real choices..and not necessarily good ones.)  TE Miller’s stock has certainly fallen in the last few weeks, and I’m wondering if Scaife, Finley or Carlson might not be better choices here? (All are available.)  Also, I’m not sure about WRs in the next few weeks, since Bess, Breaston, Bryant and Devin Thomas are all available.

      Thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions?

      • Brandon 4:51 pm on December 10, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I’m a little confused about the empty QB spot you mention. I’m assuming you obviously want to pick up a quarterback and plug him in there. Is Chad Henne or Ryan Fitzpatrick available? I like them more than the guys you mention. If not, then I guess I’d go with Bruce Gradkowski (even though he’s one of my “misses” this week) and hope he continues where he left off last week.

With DeSean Jackson most likely playing, I’d plug in Brandon Jacobs for Jason Avant as well.

Finally, stick with Heath Miller, who is my tight end “hit” this week.

        • Tony 6:34 pm on December 10, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Sorry for not clarifying that empty spot. I had Sanchez in there previously, and he’s hurt this week. Henne and Fitzpatrick are both already taken as well. 2 QBs and 12 people make for slim QB pickings…

          Starters Available at QB:
          Gradkowski
          Moore
          Boller
          Freeman

        • Brandon 6:07 pm on December 12, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Stick with Gradkowski. Moore is an enticing option considering how bad the Patriots defense has been lately, but they’re playing at home and should be a lot better against the Panthers (considering they only have to cover one receiver!)

Go with Mason as your WR2 and LT in the flex spot.

In terms of picking up a backup quarterback, there really isn’t a whole lot of season left and you won’t be benching Rodgers unless he gets hurt (knock on wood.) If you’re going to drop anyone, I guess you could drop Gostkowski, since you probably don’t need him anymore with Hartley playing now.

      – swapping Rock Cartwright for Fred Jackson (other RBs are Sjax, Wells, Forsett, Charles). I like Jackson, Rock has OAK in wk 14, but…not impressive Sunday, and unless Jackson is hurt vs TEN, probably wouldn’t start him then anyway….
      – Swapping one of my receivers (SmithNYG or Ochocinco?) for Chambers (also have Welker, Austin, SimsWalker). Now questioning whether to even start Ocho vs DET, he’s really stunk lately.
      – Which D/ST(s) are best to hold for rest of season, playoffs start wk14, can hold 2 if necessary: CIN, BAL, GB, DEN, BUF, ARI, ATL, SEA

      – we start 2 RB/WR, no flex, non ppr. Thanks, guys, your advice is always stellar.

Thanks Shane, I didn’t have much faith in Rock, nice to hear it from someone else.

      • Brandon 8:38 pm on December 2, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I’d grab Fred Jackson for sure, as it looks like he could get the bulk of the carries for Buffalo down the stretch. Cartwright plays for a Redskins offense that is just too terrible to rely on.

For your receivers, I’d stick with Ochocinco and Smith and start Ochocinco this week. He just complained about the offense not passing enough and I figure that will be worth at least a few extra looks.

Finally, for defense I agree with Shane, go with Cincinnati and Green Bay.

I guess you guys don’t think much of Welkers this week…… Now do you really think Cincy’s going to actually try to pass the ball vs Detroit Lately they seem to be saving Palmer’s arm for the postseason. MSW, Austin, and Ocho all look good this week, I can start 2…

        • Brandon 9:12 pm on December 2, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Oops, I was confused there. I thought you meant you were going to drop Ochocinco or Smith for Chambers. If you can only start two of those receivers, I’d go with Steve Smith and Mike Sims-Walker.

Who do you think to start this week? Laverrneous Coles,Jason Avant, or Marrio Manningham? I already got Welker and Burleson starting

      • Brandon 8:35 pm on December 2, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Go with Jason Avant, who should have a big day with DeSean Jackson possibly sidelined. If Jackson plays though, go with Manningham.

Need help have two weeks left to clinch playoffs and this week is my toughest match up. I need 3 WR, 2 RB, and 2 FLEX. Here are my players; Sims-Walker, Roddy White, Smith (NYG), Smith (Car), Crabtree, TO, Chambers, Hightower, Pierre Thomas, Norwood, and Larry Johnson.

Please help me out. With TO finally putting up good numbers and Chambers becoming KC’s number 1, I’m not sure who to start.

      • Dennis 9:55 am on December 2, 2009 Permalink | Reply

        I also have Antonio Bryant.

      • Brandon 8:43 pm on December 2, 2009 Permalink | Reply

At running back, go with Pierre Thomas and Jerious Norwood. For your receivers and flex, go with Mike Sims-Walker, Steve Smith (NYG), Roddy White, Michael Crabtree and take the gamble on Steve Smith (CAR). I know he was shut down last week, but he gets a match-up with Tampa Bay and even if Delhomme is out, backup Matt Moore has experience throwing to Smith and should look his way often.

    • Duncan 1:02 pm on December 2, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I need to start two: Steve Smith (NYG), Chris Chambers, and/or Jason Avant.

It’s tough because while Avant has been putting up reasonable numbers and has great sleeper potential with DJax out it’s hard to start him over Smith or Chambers. On the other hand, Dallas’s pass defense has stepped up over the last few weeks (not to mention Eli’s struggles) and I’m still not sold on Chambers especially against a decent defense in Denver coming off a strong game and a few extra days of rest.

      Any thoughts?

      • Brandon 8:34 pm on December 2, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Last time the G-Men played Dallas, Smith had a huge game, so I’d leave him in there and hope he can do the same. For your other receiver, I like Jason Avant this week as it appears DeSean Jackson will sit this one out.

      I’m sharing in Duncan’s dilemma…

To all: would you pick up D.Bowe or Meachem in exchange for S.Smith (NYG) or Cotchery?

      • Brandon 8:32 pm on December 2, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Meachem is higher risk, but has a potential for higher reward over Cotchery. However, I’d stick with what you have just because Jerricho is still a number one receiver in the Jets offense. Also, what are the odds that Meachem, the teams third receiver, keeps catching touchdowns every game?! Stick with what you got.

      Steelers or Saints Defense?
I need three: Benson, Slaton, Norwood, Pierre Thomas, Chris Brown
I need two: Calvin Johnson, Marques Colston, Pierre Garcon, Hakeem Nicks

Also I have Kurt Warner….if he cant play who makes for a better pickup Chris Redman, Vince Young or David Garrad?
      Thanks for the help!

      • Brandon 2:59 pm on December 4, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Go with the Saints for your defense. They’ve been good and have a great match-up with a terrible Redskins offense. At running back, go with Thomas, Benson, and Norwood. For your receivers, start Calvin Johnson (as long as he’s playing, which it appears he should be at this point) and Marques Colston. Finally, for your quarterback, if Warner is a no-go, your best bet is probably Garrard against the Texans. Good luck!

      Hey Brandon!

Running Short on RB’s this week due to Bernard Scott’s turf toe and Cedric Benson now playing. Should I drop him or does he still warrant a roster spot? My other RB’s are Ricky Williams and Brandon Jacobs, but I really think I need to bench Jacobs because he hasn’t done anything worth starting him so far. With Dallas as a matchup this week it isn’t worth the risk in my opinion. As far as RB’s available to pick up in my league, I have a choice between Felix Jones, Chris Brown, or Sammy Morris. I could drop Scott and pick up any of these RB’s for this week. What do you think? I need to start two RB’s Sunday and Ricky Williams will obviously be one of them.

BTW- Thanks for the advice on picking up Avant, Meachem, and Henderson last week as well as starting Donald Driver! Started Henderson and Driver which was good, but wish I would have started Meachum too! Breaston didn’t get crap and I forgot to check if Warner was out- oops! This week I think I will start Avant, Driver, and Meachum. Do you agree?

I won in my league last week too and beat the guy in 1st place! YEAH! Thanks!!!!

      • Brandon 2:33 pm on December 4, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Hey Natalie, congrats on the victory! It’s probably safe to ditch Bernard Scott at this point. In terms of who to start at running back, he’s a bit of a risk, but I like Felix Jones. The Giants run defense isn’t that great and Jones has played very well the past few games when given the chances.

As for your receivers, it’s hard to guess between Henderson and Meachem, but go with what you have there (Avant, Driver, and Meachem) and you should do alright.

      • Brandon 10:19 am on December 6, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I’d go with your two wide receivers, Garcon and Avery, who have much higher potential than the other two, who will be lucky to run for 80 yards or so.

The Wire – Week 12: Bottom of the Barrel

Here are our waiver wire candidates for week twelve. As usual, you’ll find players who are either [Startable], a [Stopgap] to get you past a BYE or injury, [Worth a look] and spot on your bench, or [One-week-wonder]s who don’t warrant a roster spot, so you make your roster moves accordingly. You’ll also see the percent owned (in Yahoo! leagues) in parenthesis. All I can say about the cast of characters on this week’s list is that hopefully you don’t have to rely on them too much…otherwise you’re in big trouble.

Hey all: I am thinking about picking up kevin boss and dropping antonio gates. I am reading that the giants are going to keep looking toward the tight end more while it appears that the chargers are not. What do you think? rob

      • Matt 8:49 am on November 24, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I definitely wouldn’t drop a TE with 52 receptions for 709 yards in order to pick up one with 24 catches for 359 yards. Gates might only have two TDs, but Boss just has four. If defenses adjust and key in on Boss the way they often do on Gates, Eli’s just going to go to one of his many, many other options.

If Calvin Johnson actually plays, then I’d go with him, even with Daunte Culpepper likely to start. However, it looks like Johnson won’t be playing either at the moment, making your decision a bit easier 🙂

      • Brandon 4:03 pm on November 24, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Feel free to ditch Earl Bennett and Nate Washington (especially with Vince Young at quarterback.) While Washington has found the endzone recently, his upside isn’t high enough to warrant the limited catches he gets each week. I’d actually drop Todd Heap as well so you could grab Meachem, Avant and Snelling (if only to keep other teams from getting him for the time being.)

No other receivers off my waiver wire list is a free agent in your league? Coles, Wallace, Henderson, etc?

        • Natalie 4:57 pm on November 24, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I had Coles in the draft and dropped him (dumb now I know) and someone else picked him up. Wallace is unavailable, but Henderson is available.

Did your waivers already clear? Grab Snelling for sure if you have a chance and Henderson as well. You can drop Bennett and/or Washington for them.

Should I try to get Rock Cartwright or Bernard Scott?

I have Ryan Moats on my bench on a team with Gore, Ricky Wiliams, Beanie Wells & Slaton. Since Moats didn’t do anything last night, I’d like to replace him with someone to compete with Wells and Slaton for the possible flex slot.
Or should I also drop Wells so that I can get both Cartwright and Scott?

      • Shirley 1:13 pm on November 24, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Oh and I just noticed that Justin Forsett is available. I’m thinking he should be at the top of my list? His next 3 games look pretty good (STL, SF, HOU).

        • Brandon 3:59 pm on November 24, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Hey Shirley, I’d keep Beanie Wells, since you know he’s going to see action every week. As for the other guys, Rock Cartwright will start for the Redskins for the rest of the year, as long as he’s healthy, so he’s probably the best add of the group. Justin Forsett and Bernard Scott both have good match-ups on the horizon, but it’s not quite clear what the status of Cedric Benson or Julius Jones are at this point. Keep on eye on the health of those two, as they would make excellent plays if they are named the starters. Long story short, if you need to make a waiver move, the safest is to drop Ryan Moats for Rock Cartwright, with your backup waiver claims being Bernard Scott and Justin Forsett.

Hey Brandon, should I start Lesean McCoy vs. WAS or Kevin Smith vs. GB (in a PPR League)?

LeSean has an easier matchup & I feel as if Philly will build an early lead & feed him the rock! Smith catches more passes, & puts up decent #s in our PPR League. Everytime I bench Smith, he inevitably finds the endzone & puts up big #s. I realize Stafford & Megatron may be on the shelf, which would allow GB to load the box & key in on Smith. Do you see any reason to start Smith over McCoy?

      Thanks

      • Brandon 3:41 pm on November 25, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I honestly have no reason to start him…although I’d prefer you could start someone other than LeSean McCoy instead! However, I’d definitely go with McCoy…if only so you don’t have to sit and stare at a bad score from Smith all the way until Sunday.

I am a little concerned with Mcnabb this week. I just picked up Alex Smith. Should I start him over Mcnabb. All common sense tells me no, but the way that the skins held him down last time, I am not sure

      • Brandon 7:54 am on November 29, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I know common sense (and a lot of other experts) tell you to go with McNabb, I’m leaning towards Alex Smith actually. The Jaguars defense is a heck of a lot worse than the Redskins at slowing down opposing quarterbacks and the last time McNabb faced Washington, he had one of his worst games of the season. I know the Eagles will throw a lot, but I’m thinking the 49ers will as well and Smith could be in for one of his three touchdown games.

    • Lindsay 2:40 am on November 26, 2009 Permalink | Reply

SO I am concerned about all my positions this week. I have Romo as my QB and he has been seriously lacking the past 2 weeks. My B/U is Orton, but I don’t really want to play him either. I could pick up Hasselback or A. Smith?

Also for receivers, I need 3, I have Colston, Smith (nyg), L. Evans, Collie, Meacham, Floyd, Bess…I can also get D. Avery of the FA list.
For RBs I need 2…I have R. Williams(obvious), Forte, R. Cartwright…there isn’t anything on waivers or the FA list except J. Lewis, C. Taylor, K. Faulk and Buckhalter.
I also need a flex option from the above names.
I am in a PPR league, so that is the only consolation for Forte since he catches passes more than he runs!
And for defense I had Arizona, but am looking to pick up another one…Atlanta or Seattle? THX a bunch!

      • Brandon 8:00 am on November 29, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Sorry we didn’t get to this before the Thursday games Lindsay, but who did you end up playing? I’d start Rock Cartwright over Matt Forte if that is an option. At receiver, go with Marques Colston and Donnie Avery if you can get him still (I’m assuming you already played Steve Smith? For your flex spot, go with Matt Forte and hope he has another 8 catch, 120 yard performance to compliment his 30 yards or so he gets on the ground. For your defense, go with Seattle against Kyle Boller and the Rams for sure.

        • Lindsay 1:04 pm on November 29, 2009 Permalink | Reply

No problem…I know you guys are busy…Thx for the response though. I did end up playing ROmo and thankfully he did well. I also played Smith. I picked up Avery but couldn’t get him in my lineup in time, so hopefully both Meacham and Colston pull some good numbers, cause those are the other WRs I have in my lineup besides Smith. I also used Seattle, so we’ll see how that goes too. Thx
