    All-Infirmary Team

After noticing that one of my teams looked especially banged up this week, I figured I’d have some fun and put together the best group of guys you probably didn’t want on your roster this year. I present to you, the All-Infirmary Team…

    • QB Peyton Manning – Zero games played after neck surgery
    • RB Jamaal Charles – Torn ACL in second game of year
    • RB Peyton Hillis – Played in just four games this year and already ruled out this week with hamstring strain
    • WR Kenny Britt – Tore his ACL and MCL in third game of year
    • WR Andre Johnson – Has missed six straight games with a hamstring injury
    • WR Miles Austin – Will miss his fourth game of the year battling hamstring injuries
    • TE Antonio Gates – Missed four games earlier in the year with a foot injury
    • FLEX Knowshon Moreno – After missing a few games earlier this year, he’s now out for the season with torn ACL

    • QB Matt Schaub – Most likely done for the year due to a recent foot injury
    • RB Felix Jones – Separated his shoulder early in season and now missed four games with ankle sprain
    • RB Jahvid Best – Missed three games and counting with a concussion
    • RB Ahmad Bradshaw – Out two games so far with a foot fracture
    • RB Darren McFadden – In danger of missing the better part of his fourth game due to a foot injury
    • WR Santana Moss – Missed his third game with a hand injury
    • WR Julio Jones – He’s missed parts and pieces of four games and is nursing a hamstring injury
    • TE Dallas Clark – Could be out for the year with a leg injury

hi guys – todays the trade deadline and looking for some advice/help! up 9-1 so looking good for the playoffs.. what do you think is the best scenario here for wk 15-17, standard scoring, non-ppr, start 2 rb, 3wr, 1 wr/rb/te flex..

      qb romo, tebow
rb ap, demarco, cedben, beanie, jstew, helu
wr megatron, stevie johnson, plaxico, nate washington
      te finley, fred davis

trying to turn some of this rb depth into better wr and worried about beanies knee & playoff schedule..

      i get.. for..
maclin – beanie (can probably weather maclins injury time, given my record, but means leaning on demarco for the stretch at flex and not sure what his ultimate role will be given jjones comments this week about RBBC)

demarco – roddy white (would leave beanie at flex w/ those bad matchups)

beanie & plaxico – dez bryant (given up the most depth here, but scared of praying for a td w/ plaxico every week and romo-dez may be solid)

the wr’s im targeting are in trades are:
team a: manningham, jordy nelson, dez, julio jones
team b: roddy white, b llyod, maclin, cruz
team c: welker, ajohnson, miles austin

can you think of any other good offers to try? my advantage is my record, so can shoot for injured but upside plays b/c i can afford the losses to for good playoff matchups / upside.. thanks guys! this site is awesome!

do banie and plax for dez, with austin out dez will have a big game, and dont get maclin, he is hurt

Do you guys see Bradshaw returning this year? I am thinking of trading NYG D and Cruz for him. I have enough good WR and Cincinnati and NE D.

    • Adam 6:29 pm on November 15, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Common! You have Hilis as your RB2, Moreno at Flex and McFadden on your bench??? I don’t think that’s right.

    • Brett 7:03 pm on November 15, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Haha. Maybe you could add Joseph Addai to that team, but maybe it’s so obvious that Addai will be injured that he’s unlike the others. Also, for some other unique fantasy analysis and a funny podcast, check out my new site – http://www.TheFFMVP.com. Thanks!

Not a good week for fantasy football top round draft picks

Maybe there is some league out there that had this unfortunate draft?

    1. Arian Foster – Re-injured hamstring
    2. Adrian Peterson – Great game!
    3. Jamaal Charles – Out for year with a torn ACL
    4. Michael Vick – Knocked out of game with a concussion
    5. Chris Johnson – Still underperforming
    6. Steven Jackson (ok, maybe a reach…) – Questionable for game with sore quad
    7. Felix Jones (another reach) – Out for a few weeks with seperated shoulder
    8. Miles Austin – Great game, but at a cost. Could miss games with hamstring injury
    9. Tony Romo (alright, now we’re getting silly) – Broken ribs could keep him out for some time
    10. Brandon Lloyd – Sat out with groin injury

Only five of those are first rounders…

      • Brandon 11:55 am on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Yeah I realized that once I started listing them out, but the amount of injuries to high profile players caused me to write it. I tried to be sarcastic in the intro sentence, but I guess it wasn’t so obvious.

      • Brandon 11:55 am on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Either way, you got the point right?

        • Matt 2:16 pm on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

You should have specified that these are the first-round picks everyone would have if we all went with the advice you get when SportsCenter gets a panel of coaches and retired players together to do a segment on fantasy football.

    • Brandon 2:56 pm on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

      11. Aaron Hernandez – Out 1-2 weeks with a sprained MCL.

    • jm 3:30 pm on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Not a good week indeed..I had Charles and Jones…Who is the best off waivers?? KC RBs and the team are in for a long season and a tough schedule. What are your thoughts on McGahee??

      • Brandon 10:54 am on September 20, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I bet McGahee splits carries all season now with Moreno, who they’ll try to keep as healthy as possible. I guess I like McGahee over Thomas Jones, but McCluster has the highest upside.

    • jm 4:46 pm on September 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Should I drop F. Jones and add Choice??

      • Brandon 10:53 am on September 20, 2011 Permalink | Reply

No, Felix Jones might even play this week, but it’s unlikely. If he doesn’t play, rookie DeMarco Murray probably has the most upside, but you should drop another guy to get him for when Felix Jones is healthy.

    Week one injury updates

    • Looks like Rams WR Danny Amendola could be out for at least 8-10 weeks, if not the year, after suffering a dislocated elbow. This hurts for those in PPR leagues who drafted him. This could end up benefiting rookie tight end Lance Kendricks, who should see even more looks, even after dropping a few passes on Sunday.
    • Amendola’s teammates Sam Bradford (finger) and Steven Jackson (quad) also suffered minor injuries and both hope to play in week 2, but keep an eye on them. Don’t worry about starting Bradford’s backup for any reason, but Cadillac Williams will top the waiver wire pick-ups this week for sure!
    • Chargers running back Mike Tolbert continued to prove that he’s the more valuable tailback, at least in terms of fantasy football, on the team as he scored three touchdowns. However, he also hurt his knee and while it seems minor at the moment, it could be the type of injury to sideline him a week, so make sure to follow the situation if he’s on your team.
    • Houston running back Derrick Ward left the game with an ankle injury and backup Ben Tate had a big game. With Arian Foster’s status still unknown for week two and Ward already losing his role as primary backup, Tate could be in line for another big game.
    • 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree will most likely be day-to-day for a while with a reoccurring foot injury.
    • Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman left Sunday’s game temporarily, but it seems it was just cramps and he came back in the game. Nothing to see here.
    • Jags tight end Marcedes Lewis had either cramps or a calf strain and you’ll want to monitor his status throughout the week before plugging him into your line-up (or don’t plug him in…easier solution!)
    • Bengals rookie quarterback Andy Dalton hurt his wrist and his status for week two is up in the air…but that shouldn’t matter, as no one should have him in their fantasy line-ups unless you’re in some crazy three QB league!
    • In case you’re someone who pays very little attention to the kicker position, other than to sub your guy out on a bye week, you might check that you don’t have Chargers kicker Nate Kaeding in your line-up. It seems he might be out for the year with a knee injury.

My team has Cassel at qb, peyton manning on the bench. Think I should drop both/either for fitzpatrick and cam newton?

      • Brandon 2:01 pm on September 12, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Feel free to drop Manning at this point. He won’t help you this year. As far as who to pick up, I’d probably go the safer route with Fitzpatrick. He was decent last year as well and seems to be continuing that trend. Newton might be fun in the games he does well, but I predict a few terrible games in his near future. Maybe grab them all though if possible, since you’re pretty weak at the position.

Injury update: The word floating around the Twitterverse is that Ray Rice and Jahvid Best practiced in full and should be good to go this weekend. Unfortunately though, Andre Johnson, Steven Jackson, Pierre Thomas and Owen Daniels will be most likely be game-time decisions 🙁

    • Wolf 8:00 pm on October 1, 2010 Permalink | Reply

I’m lookin at Jacoby Jones on my bench more and more. If Andre and Daniels are out what do you think of his chances?

      My alternatives are:
      D Thomas
      L Moore
      R Williams
      A Hernandez (W/T spot)
      L Naanee
      D McCluster

Yes. My bench is almost all waiver WRs. I scooped up a bunch to possibly find some trades if I need them later on.

      • Brandon 11:52 am on October 3, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Hard to get a bearing on Andre Johnson this week, but obviously if he doesn’t play I love Jacoby Jones. I do like Lance Moore as well, who I think sees an increased number of targets with Reggie Bush sidelined again.

I Have Cedric Benson and Payton Hillis in my RB spots.
My problem is i have a flex position that is RB/WR/QB, not sure who is a better play in this position, Pierre Thomas or Sam Bradford. I like Bradfords matchup, and PT’s Knee is psyching me out. I am 0-3 so this is make or break week for me.

      • Brandon 11:50 am on October 3, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Easy one here, with the PT Cruiser OUT this week! Go with Bradford and good luck 🙂

Trouble for me this week, I have Andre Johnson and Javid Best, my bench options are Mike Tolbert and Lance Moore. Please help!

      • Brandon 11:54 am on October 3, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Go with Jahvid Best, who is starting this week. As for Andre Johnson though, that’s a tough one. If you want to be safe, you might start Lance Moore, who should see an increased number of targets with Reggie Bush out. Hard to figure out what’s going on with AJ right now though. Will post if I hear any update on him.

Check your line-up this morning and make sure the following players are NOT starting…because they’re NOT playing:

    – Pierre Garcon (hamstring)
    – Reggie Bush (broken fibula)
    – Knowshon Moreno (hamstring)
    – Jerome Harrison
    – Nate Burleson

Oh, and probably don’t start Chargers RB Ryan Mathews either, even if he someone manages to limp onto the field.

    • James 11:24 am on September 26, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Yeah, Mathews and Moreno down for me this week. So I am kind of hurting at R.B. I am starting Hightower in my 12 team league as he is the best option I have left. But I need help for a R.B. #2. Either one will be far from #2 status but here we go. Correll Buckhalter, Benjarvus Green-Ellis, C.J. Spiller, Darren Sproles.(Tolbert and Maroney were picked up before I can Grab them) any advice would really help. Thanks.

      • Brandon 12:45 pm on September 26, 2010 Permalink | Reply

        Go Buckhalter

Vernon Davis or Aaron Hernandez as TE?

      • Brandon 12:57 pm on September 26, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Davis is low risk, high reward. Hernandez is high risk, potentially high reward. Stick with your main man Davis.

I thought so, thanks for the last min advice.

I also need flex advice Sproles or Knox? I was thinking knox since it should be a shootout.

      • Brandon 12:22 pm on September 27, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Oops, looks like I didn’t get to this one in time. Who’d you end up starting?

    • Andrew 2:02 pm on September 26, 2010 Permalink | Reply

hey I would love your input. i need to choose a flex player – Austin Collie, Clinton Portis, Legedu Naanee, or Shonn Greene?

      • Brandon 12:22 pm on September 27, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Didn’t get to this one either. Who’d you start? Hopefully Collie 🙂

    • Danny 10:19 am on September 27, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Week 4 quarterback choice. Michael Vick or Tom Brady?. Dustin Keller vs Aaron Hernandez? Also im just wondering but hows your outlook on Peyton Hills and Darren McFadden. You think they’ll keep putting up these numbers?

      • Brandon 3:25 pm on September 27, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Haven’t yet started thinking about next weeks rankings, but will soon!

As for McFadden and Hillis, I see DMC having much more staying power than Hillis.
