Looks like RB Reggie Bush is on his way to the Miami Dolphins, which is a little worrisome as a Patriots fan…but not much. I wonder if Bush is familiar with the wildcat formation?

A lot of people seem to be pretty down on Bush in Miami, but I think it raises his value significantly. New Orleans just had too many weapons for a player like Bush to be a consistent fantasy performer. That’s not the case in Miami; he’s their best weapon now, and one that they’ll look to incorporate deeply into the offense.

Seems like he’s moving down a lot of people’s draft boards, but he’s moving in the opposite direction on mine.

Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall continues to tarnish my name with another offseason incident. He was stabbed by his wife over the weekend for some reason (not sure details have been released yet.)

LOL! He didn’t do much for my fantasy football team last year either, but I still won the Championship! 🙂

Thursday Night Football: CHI @ MIA

As usual, just wanted to remind you that Thursday night football games have started and tonight the Bears take their talents to South Beach to play the Dolphins. In case I haven’t mentioned this before…I hate starting players in Thursday night games! While there’s a chance your player blows up and you get to gloat about it for a few days, there’s always the chance that he puts up a stinker, making the days leading up to Sunday a lot more unsettling (those who started Michael Turner last week know what I’m talking about!) At least with tonight’s game featuring the Bears and Dolphins, keeping thefantasy football-relevant players on your bench shouldn’t be that big of an issue anyways 🙂

Brandon Marshall traded to Miami Dolphins

It’s a sad day when a player with your name (you’re obligated to root for him right?) is traded to a division rival of your favorite team 🙁 There’s no way I will be buying a Brandon Marshall – Miami Dolphins jersey!

Anyways, I have to think that this move makes Chad Henne a viable fantasy quarterback next season…although it would still be best to have him as a back-up until you see what he’s capable of with a serious wide receiver in the mix. The Broncos passing game is downgraded tremendously unless Eddie Royal can figure out how to play football again. Poor Brady Quinn…just when he thought he might have a chance to succeed.

How valuable is Ricky Williams from here on out?

With the news that Ronnie Brown is out for the season, the fantasy world’s eyes are focused intently on 32-year-old former Toronto Argonaut Ricky Williams tonight. And why not? Williams finds himself the only healthy skilled tailback on a team built to run the football. For the time being, the Dolphins’ only other available rusher is Lex Luthor Hilliard, who has zero career NFL carries to his name. Expect Miami to take a hard look at free agents like Edgerrin James and Dominic Rhodes in the coming weeks.

Despite previously being behind Brown on the depth chart, Williams was already a top-15 fantasy RB, making him a rock-solid RB2. Now I think there’s little question that he’s an every-week RB1. There simply aren’t many running backs in the NFL who will touch the ball as much as he will the rest of this season, and you certainly can’t complain about the schedule: (More …)

Who should I start? Schaub or McNabb? Thanks!

      • Matt 1:26 pm on November 19, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Schaub probably won’t repeat his week 2 line (357 yards and 4 TDs), but it’s hard to sit him against a team he dominated the last time out. I’d start him.

That’s a tough call. The Bench humping really comes down to Driver, White, K. Smith and Driver.

I’m gonna say bench White (who’s questionable this week and hurting) and Marshall. I’ll give K. Smith the benefit of the doubt as he has actually performed well in the matchups he should have(NO, WAS, STL). I’d look for him to do the same here.

Honestly Marshall and Driver are roughly equal this week in my opinion. Most people prefer Marshall this week. I only picked Driver because of the matchup which is far better this week against a 29th ranked SF pass defense. In addition in his career against SF he’s put up almost 10 points per game including 2 TDS. Marshall on the other hand has put up under 8 per outing against SD in his career (7 games) including only 1 TD. I just have to go with Driver this week. White, in case you were still factoring him is facing the second best pass defense in the league and has averaged only 4FFpoints per game in his two game career against NYG. With his injury you have to avoid him.
