If you’re looking for a defense to ride the rest of the year, look no further than the New England Patriots, who could potentially play the following quarterbacks:

    11: Tyler Palko
    12: Vince Young
    13: Curtis Painter
14: Rex Grossman or John Beck…who cares
    15: Tim Tebow
    16: Matt Moore

As bad as the Patriots were defensively early in the year, they’ve started to improve quite a bit recently and it should only continue ๐Ÿ™‚

      tebow or dalton?

    • Kjax 9:17 am on November 15, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I picked up tebow off of waiver wire and have been very pleased. Even starting him over rivers and big Ben! so yes. He runs a whole lot which equals lots of points. And, the boy just wins!!

OK, trade offered. I give Jordy Nelson / Bradshaw / Battle , I get Maclin / Fred Jackson.

Seems pretty solid to me and I am hurting at RB, but losing Jordy who is arguably now a WR1 is tough.

      • Brandon 6:04 pm on November 15, 2011 Permalink | Reply

That’s a tough one, but you upgrade pretty good at running back. Can you just trade Bradshaw and Battle for Jackson by chance? Who are your other receivers? Can you afford to lose Nelson?

        • Mike 10:06 am on November 16, 2011 Permalink | Reply

No, its Nelson or nothing. I still have Colston, Holmes, Decker, Brown and Crabtree PLUS i get Maclin. So I slightly downgrade at WR. Colston is a definite WR1, Maclin and Brown are WR2s and Holmes, Decker (Could be a 2, but not sure about passing game) and Crabtree are WR3s

Little help please!! Just lost Schaub(Picked up Leinart) and have Mark Sanchez… 8-2 and have clinched a playoff spot… Should I look to make a trade for a QB?? Got quite a few hurt players left though… do you think i can/ should package any of these together??? Or stick with the QB’s I have??
      Rest of my Team is
Dez Bryant, Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Smith(Car), Hey-ward-Bey, Julio Jones……Ray Rice, Michael Bush, Ryan Mathews, Aahmad Bradshaw…..
Any advise is appreciated!! Thank you!

Rivers is really the only decent QB on someones bench. His owner needs a RB bad!! What do you think would not be giving up too much. Especially with the injury to Bradshaw and Mcfadden possibly comming back soon. If I give up Mathews, I may be without a packup…. what are your thought??.. thanks in advance!!

Oh Ravens, how do I hate thee? Let me count the ways…

    1. First of all, as a Patriots fan, it’s mandatory that I hate the Ravens after they knocked New England out of the playoffs inย embarrassingย fashion a few years ago.
    2. League #1: Billy Cundiff – I needed 8 points from you to win…not a HUGE thing to ask. You got 1.
    3. League #2: Ray Rice – Needed about 16 points, something you’ve done in nearly every game this year. You got 4.
    4. League #3: Joe Flacco – I know this would have been tough, but you could have gone out and repeated your week three performance for 30+ points and earned me a win. You got 9.
Soooo…I guess there are four ways in which I hate the Ravens. If you add up the times I’ve hated Joe Flacco this year though, there are probably an additional 3-4 hates in there somewhere.

Yeah thanks Ray Rice for the choke…and fumble! Anyway i have Pettigrew and Gronkowski on my team. Do you think it would be a risk that pays off if i trade Pettigrew for Tony Gonzales and then start him instead of Gronkowski since Atlanta is playing the Colts

Don’t forget what happened last year. Gronk 3 tds 72 yards. Brady has shown all year the he LOVES to throw to his TEs. Even with Hernandez playing as well I still give Gronk a better chance of scoring more than Pettigrew. IMO of course ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah they will and my gut is to play Gronkowski and Welker because im sure they will combine for most the receptions…hopefully. But im worried about Troy Polamalu. He can be hell on a recieving tight end he doesnt like to stay in the typical safety position unless he has to lol. But i agree with you on who to play i think Brady and Belichick will find a way to play around him

I am having the same dilemma and I am also starting Gronk, even if Pettigrew is getting a lot more attention since Best is out. Also, there is a chance that Stafford won’t play or at least he will be banged up.

As a Flacco owner, would you be interested in a trade for Tebow? I’m looking to unload Teebird and acquire a solid WR or some very decent RB depth. I’m not sure exactly what to go for, though.

      • Adam 11:02 am on October 25, 2011 Permalink | Reply

As an aside, if you type “Flacco” on an iPhone, the auto-correct changes it to “flaccid”. Awesome.

      • Brandon 3:36 pm on October 26, 2011 Permalink | Reply

As a Flacco owner, I would indeed be interested in Tebow. However, I would only give up a mediocre receiver for him until he proves himself better than what he did last game. Tebow might go for someone like Miles Austin or something at this point if you’re lucky.

    • Corey 11:57 am on October 25, 2011 Permalink | Reply

So I have a question for some of the guys here. I’ve been doing ff for years so i’m not out to screw anyone on trades and all that. But I have run into a dilemma and I’m asking for some advice. First off here is my roster in a standard 8 team league.

      Ben Roethlisberger,Tim Tebow,Arian Foster,Darren McFadden,Ryan Mathews,Peyton Hillis,Andre Johnson,Mike Wallace,Brandon Lloyd,Terrell Owens,James Jones,Owen Daniels,Jason Hanson,Sebastian Janikowski,Cowboys, 49ers

Cowboys, Jones, Hanson were all bye week fill ins and will be going back to waivers. Here is what I need some advice. As you can see my QB and TE position is not really that strong. Ben has picked up his play the last few weeks so I”m not necessarily worried about that but I’m seriously interested in upgrading Daniels. And the target I’m after is Jimmy Graham.

The owner who has him is having alot of problems with RB depth but he has a stock of wrs. I’m heavy on both WR/RB and am willing to help him out to help me out as well.

Deangelo Williams, Daniel Thomas, Fred Jackson, Blount and Smith *car* Jennings/Bryant/D.Jackson/Julio

He does also have jermichael finley on the bench.

So here is what I need some advice on. Would offering lets say Daniels and either McFadden or Mathews for Graham and Jennings be more fair to both sides or do you think this falls heavy to one side? Or instead of Jennings look for D.jackson or bryant. He also has Brady as well who i’m interested in at qb. Thanks for any advice ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Adam 4:00 pm on October 25, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I’d target Daniels and Mathews for Graham, 2-for-1. I don’t think you’re going to get both Graham and Jennings. You could start asking for both and negotiate down.

Yea thats what I figured I was going to offer him was a 2 for 1, I just didn’t want to over/under value it. Thanks

      • Joshua 1:06 pm on October 25, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I would say N Washington. I think with the Texans taking over the AFC south the Titans know they have to step up some to make sure they stay contenders for the division. Washington has some good stats and they few games ive seen him play looked like some good hands too. Oh and they are playing the colts next week ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Corey 1:11 pm on October 25, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Well, I would say no to nelson just to the fact that he’s not targeted enough anymore *too many option in buffalo* and no to Breaston just because he’s a #2 and will lose most looks for Bowe. I would look to get Jenkins. I would hold off on Thomas one more week or grab him and jenkins if you have bench space just to see how he does, keep in mind though that Tebow and his crappy accuracy is throwing him the ball. Washington hasn’t done anything with Britts exit. Washington is the #1 but he is not getting enough catches. 8 catches over the last 3 games and his only big game was the denver game when britt went down. that was with britt in the game too. From what I’ve been hearing, TEN is looking to add T.O to their wr core and even then I still don’t get washington. Boldin put over 100 yards on houston last week and Washington had 1 catch for 10 yards.

Go grab Jenkins and Thomas if you can. Jenkins 1st though. If Harvin has the coverage Jenkins will be the next in line receiver there.

        Just my 2 cents ๐Ÿ™‚

        • Joshua 1:21 pm on October 25, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I was thinking Jenkins also but what kept me from going that direction is the Vikings dont have an easy schedule for the rest of the year especially for a rookie QB(Ponder) only having two games in the NFL. And my opinion on Thomas is he is a talented reciever but Jacksonville QB(Gabbert) has horrible “drop and pass” mechanics. These are just my opinions could be wrong could be right hope it helps.

In need of some advice. I am in a desperate QB situation. In a 12 team, 2QB league. (2QB, 2WR, 2RB, TE, W/T, K, Def).

      My current team is:

QB – AJ Feeley, Tarvaris Jackson, Carson Palmer, Jay Cutler
WR – Eric Decker, Hakeem Nicks, Doug Baldwin (dropping him this week for Heath Miller), Jordy Nelson, Mario Manningham
RB – Arian Foster, LeSean McCoy, Beanie Wells
TE – Jermichael Finley (Heath Miller, pending waiver)
K – Stephen Gostkowski, Mason Crosby
      Def – Detroit

The one person who is willing to entertain trade requests team is below.

QB – Matthew Stafford, Josh Beck, Christian Ponder, Charlie Whitehurst
WR – Anquan Boldin, Vincent JAckson, Andre Johnson, Kevin Walter
RB – Fred Jackson, Frank Gore, Darren McFadden, Tashard Choice
TE – Greg Olsen, Scott Chandler
      K – Nick Novak
      Def – Chicago

I am considering packaging Beanie Wells and/or Mario Manningham (+/-Carson Palmer)into a deal. Any suggestions on whether i should pursue Beck or Ponder (as I am certain he will not be willing to deal Stafford). What kind of a trade should I offer.

(I’ve sent another trade proposal to another guy but have not heard a response. That one is Wells and Manningham for Hasselbeck and Marcedes Lewis. You guys think i should keep this one on the table?)

      Thanks in advance!

No way you do Stafford and Johnson for Cam Newton (and how is Roddy White a throw in? :-)) I wouldn’t even trade Stafford and S-Jax for Newton I don’t think, but it’s much closer. In one of my leagues, Newton only has 25 more points than Stafford through seven games, so in theory he’s only worth 3-4 more points a week depending on your league scoring (although he is healthier at the moment.) I like the first deal though if you get Roddy White along with Newton. Hope this helps!

      • Corey 9:52 am on October 26, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I think the safer play here is to go with Tate. The reasoning behind this is really that the Texans have a much better O’line and Tate will have a better advantage of getting carries and decent yardage. Jacobs will get some goal line carries but you can’t really base it off of that. IE Tolbert and Mathews. As good as Bradshaw has been running lately I don’t see much of Jacobs. Plus the fact he’s nursing a mcl sprain might hamper that big body the rest of the year.

        I would get Tate.

Wayne has proven that he’s not a superstar unless he has a superstar quarterback, while Victor Cruz has come back down to earth recently. Williams seems to be improving by the week and proved last year (with the same QB) that he can be a star. He’s getting tons of looks each week too…he just needs to catch more!

I am trying to decide who to start as my RB2 and Flex in an ESPN standard 14 team league. Which two of: Battle, Moreno, Gaffney?

I am disinclined to start Moreno because I’ll eb starting Tebow, and don’t like betting against myself like that.

Also, if I could pick him up, would Demayrius Thomas be worth the start over Gaffney?

And should I pick up Bernard Scott, dumping Kendall Hunter or Stevan Ridley to do it?

Thanks very much for any input

      • Brandon 3:42 pm on October 26, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Hmm, yes to Bernard Scott over Hunter or Ridley, who have very little value at this point. Pick up Demaryius Thomas while you’re at it with the other guy. As for your RB2 and Flex spots, go Battle and Moreno. Gaffney could pick it up with Santana Moss out, but the Broncos will be running the ball all day with Tebow under center, since they don’t trust him to throw the ball. Good luck!

I have Thomas also, but he hasn’t been showing improvement. And the waiver isn’t pretty.

I’m also trying to make a trade for Dez Bryant. I was offering Daniel Thomas and Jacoby Ford. I also have Best and Wells who are injured at the moment but are supposed to return.
do you think any of those two combos or even three players would be a fair trade for Bryant or am I way off?

I would almost tell you to roll the dice with Thomas this week. Look at the past 4 matchups against the giants in the rushing game. 541 yards, 6 touchdowns, 94 total ff points to rbs the past 4 games. That’s close to 25 points a game to rbs.

As far as trying to get Bryant, I’m not sure thomas/ford will get it done. I think you package Best or wells to get Bryant and another player.

If you don’t want to spend a high draft pick on a big name tight end (Gates, Clark, etc) then feel free to snag either of the Patriots young tight ends later in the draft. Apparently red zone target Rob Gronkowski is lighting it up in camp and Aaron Hernandez should be even better than last season when he had a couple issues with injuries and dropped passes. I expect pretty big things out of the Patriots passing game this year, with so many options that defenses will have a hard time covering everyone.

Chad Ochocinco (Johnson?) traded to the New England Patriots

As a Patriots fan, I can’t complain that New England isn’t making things interesting this season. In addition to acquiring Albert Haynesworth, they’ve now traded for Chad Ochocinco (not sure if he plans to change his name back now?) and solidify one of the most solid wide receiver corps in the league. As long as Bill Belichick can put up with his social networking, I see this move working out pretty well.

In other news, recently cut wide receiver Roy Williams has signed with the Chicago Bears. Interesting move…which I don’t see working out all that great. He has a decent quarterback with Jay Cutler, but the fact that he couldn’t succeed in Dallas, who doesn’t have a scrub at QB to begin with, raises some serious questions about his skill level at this point.

Anyone know where Terrell Owens is hiding?

DT Albert Haynseworth traded to the New England Patriots for a 5th round draft pick in 2013! Adam Schefter reports that the Patriots will only owe him a total of $5 million, since the Redskins picked up the rest of his insane $100 million contract. This could turn out to be AWESOME…or embarassing. Either way it’ll be interesting!

It’s not so fantasy football-related, but it could help the NE defense in theory.

Locker room nightmare. I would want nothing to do with this guy.

Neither will the Bills quarterback when he’s terrorizing him in the backfield!
