QB Kevin Kolb traded to Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals finally got their man, trading CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a draft pick for Eagles backup quarterback Kevin Kolb, who will immediately become their starter. The move has to make those thinking about drafting star WR Larry Fitzgerald feel a lot better.

In other news, the New Orleans Saints found their replacement for the departed Reggie Bush, signing RB Darren Sproles. Not expecting a ton of fantasy impact here, but something to keep an eye on depending on how they use him.

    Marshawn Lynch pwns the Saints

I’m sure everyone saw this already, but in case you missed it, here is Marshawn Lynch in “Beast Mode”, dominating almost every Saints player on the field…

If he had been doing stuff like this all year, he would have been worth drafting. I think this one play gets him drafted in the middle rounds next summer.

Can’t say I expected the Saints-Bills game to turn into a defensive battle with zero passing touchdowns on either side. Neither did Vegas – the over/under was 52.5. Drew Brees hasn’t looked like himself at all.

Maybe it’s the weather. It’s nasty up here in Western NY right now.

I think I jinxed something with this post. Pierre Thomas went off like mad the minute I hit “submit.”

I will take a defensive win from the Black & Gold any day!

If anyone is really struggling to find a decent running back this week, you might keep an eye on Saints running back Lynell Hamilton, who could see a bulk of the carries of Mike Bell can’t play and Pierre Thomas is still limited. Any running back that gets a good share of the carries in New Orleans should do well, as opposing defenses focus all their energy stopping the aerial attack of Drew Brees and company.

I was about to take Hamilton, but I noticed that Buckhalter were available (I dropped Jamal Lewis and Julius Jones), so I added them as my 2nd and 3rd RB this week. I am keeping Addai in the bench.

I have a question regarding my 2 WR slots: I am keeping Rany Moss and Steven Smith (NYG), over Dwayne Bowe and Johnny Knox (just added after dropping Hester), do you think this is a wise decision?

Oops, I meant that Buckhalter and MaGahee were available, so I took those over Hamilton, heh.

Great move to pick up McGahee, he should be solid all season as the Ravens look really good in the running game.

As for your wide receivers, I’d most definitely keep Moss and Steve Smith in there over Bowe and Knox. The only concern I would have is that you dropped Hester for Knox in the first place, as I think Hester still has more fantasy value, but that’s water under the bridge at this point.

I made the Knox-for-Hester swap on Thursday, as I was reading that the former had taken over as the primary kick-returner. And it seems that Cutler is more comfortable throwing toward Knox’s direction…

Looks like Mike Bell will be out three to four weeks with a sprained knee, meaning Pierre Thomas should resume his role as the starting running back for the Saints…but Hamilton should get a lot of carries this week anyways as the team tries to ease Thomas back into the offense. I picked up Hamilton in a few leagues, but primarily that some other owner wouldn’t pick him up and he becomes the next big thing. If you snagged him off free agency, keep him on your bench until you hear for sure that he’s going to get a bulk of the carries this weekend.

It does not appear that Pierre Thomas will play this weekend, so for all those of you who drafted him, hopefully you have a solid backup (possibly backup Saints RB Mike Bell?) you can plug-in for week one. Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans newspaper, The Times-Picayune, tweets:

Pierre Thomas not dressed for prax. I’d rule him “out” for Sunday. Will get official word later today.

      Prax? Who says that?

When Kim Jong Il says Plaxico Burress, I bet he pronounces it “Praxico.”
